giving them everything you can
your time and your energy
but before they can return the favor
you get scared of the possibility they won't
and run away because you're scared
you're good at showing people you care
listening, comforting, and understanding
being the perfect emotional support buddy
that's how you showcase your acting skills
impersonating someone who really cared
you're good at making people fall for you
making people love you
because you make them feel loved
you make them feel a love they've never felt
and just when they're settling into it
you leave, because you can never stay there
and now I'm wondering why
why I ever let your confusing actions
keep me laying awake in bed at night
because I'm so tired
of reading and re-reading your texts
trying to find some underlying meaning
I've analyzed every single one
read it word for word, start to finish
just trying to understand
why you would ever waste your time
if you were never really in it to stay
but you know what
I'm fucking done spending my time
looking for signs in your messages
because there's simply nothing left
to decode with the silence
