I can delete all your texts
but I'll remember every word
of what you've said
from the day we first met
to the "I love you" in the last textI can remove all your images
erase them from my phone
including the recently deleted
because I don't need an image to remember
the way you smiled at meI can throw away all your notes
every paper containing what once was
but I'll still remember your handwriting
the way it was better than mine
and the way you crossed your t'sI could unfollow and unfriend you
on every social platform there is
but I can still picture every post
and recite all the captions by heart
because I've stared at them too longI could try to erase you from me
remove you from my life
still there will remain a room in my mind
with the memories I'm trying to forget
that just simply can't be left behind
