*•.¸♡ TODAY MORNING ♡¸.•*

"Just wow! How does it allow you to make me clean up your messy office? Don't try to take advantage of your position as my boss." Myra scoffed at Diego while complaining about his silly order to clean up his really messy office.

The table was an absolute disaster zone, covered in a haphazard sea of papers. Then out of the blue, he summoned her and droped this cleaning bombshell. Myra was taken aback, but being the fearless soul she is, she tackled the task, albeit with some reluctant respect for his authority.

As she busily sorted and arranged everything, Diego just sat there with a smirk, thoroughly amused by her constant complaints.

While Myra continued her office rescue mission, Diego lounged on the sofa, nervously clutching a file in his hand, struggling to find the right words. Those words are the reason that he called Myra to his office for this silly work, which he could have told anyone else to do.

Finally, after mustering some courage, Diego spoke up, "Myra, can I have your locket for a bit?" Myra froze in her tracks at the unexpected request. Setting the pile of files down, she turned to face Diego, who avoided making eye contact.

Inside, Diego battled with his conscience. He hated lying and definitely didn't want to become a liar, but he had his reasons for keeping his lips sealed. Before sharing the whole truth, he needed to get his hands on Myra's locket.

"Why do you need my locket?" Myra inched closer, her voice tinged with hesitation. The locket was something she held dear, and she didn't want to part with it for just any reason. Diego reached for the scotch glass on the table and took a swig before speaking up.

"You're always holding onto this locket, and I want to cast a protective spell on it, so those kinds of incidents won't happen again." He downed the whole glass, waiting for Myra's response. Memories of those frightening moments flashed in her mind, but she shook them off, trying not to let fear consume her.

"Alright," Myra replied. Diego was slightly taken aback by her quick agreement. Knowing how much she cherished the locket, he had expected a tougher negotiation.

"You can take it, but I want it back soon," she said with a mix of sternness and tenderness. Diego grinned, placing the glass back on the table as he stood in front of her.

"I promise I'll return it," Diego assured her sincerely. He had no intention of keeping the locket away from her for long. Just today, and then it would stay with her, close to her heart.

With a smile, Myra slowly unclasped the locket from her neck. She held it in her hands for a moment, memories of her father clouding her thoughts. Diego noticed the emotions in her eyes, understanding the significance of the locket.

"Here," she handed the locket to Diego with care. He looked at it intently, a serious expression turning gentle as he glanced back at Myra. "I'll give it back soon," he reiterated, realizing how empty she must feel without it.

"I know," Myra said, her heart already missing the locket's presence. Her focus remained fixed on the locket in his hands.

"I've got some work to attend to. I need to head out. Bye, little moon," Diego said, using his affectionate nickname for her. Myra hummed in reply, her mind still on the locket he now held.

As Diego turned to leave, Myra's instincts kicked in, and she swiftly grabbed his coat, forcing him to face her again with her unexpected action. "Not soon. I want my locket back tonight before I go to sleep. No excuses," she stated firmly, unwilling to part with her precious possession for longer than necessary.
