↤↤↤↤↤ FLASHBACK, DIEGO 17 YEARS OLD ↦↦↦↦↦
"Attack, Xendar! Or is your new human too weak to do it?" Althea mocked. Cedric let out a mocking laugh at her words, and Xendar snarled in response, glaring at Althea and clenching his fist.
Just as Xendar was about to lunge at Althea, Diego's voice echoed in his head, "Don't!" Xendar stopped hearing his words, confused and angry.
"Why!! I want to kill her today only!!" Xendar growled, his eyes still locked on Althea, who waited with malicious intent clear in her eyes.
"There is something fishy." Diego stated, and Xendar's rage calmed slightly, though not fully. He paid closer attention to Diego's words.
"In the past, these bastards never attacked without solid preparation. Army or weapons? There's nothing here. Something is definitely off. Don't make hasty actions," Diego explained calmly, observing their surroundings but seeing only the four enemies encircling them.
Xendar's anger simmered as he considered Diego's words, scanning the area for anything suspicious. Althea sensed his hesitation and tried to provoke him further.
"What's the matter, Xendar? Afraid to fight? Or is your human holding you back?" She taunted him earning a beastly glare from Xendar, an angry growl leaving his chest.
"Don't! She's clearly trying to provoke you." Diego warned him again, having gone through such a thing before, it didn't take much time for Diego to realize the provocation behind Althea's mockery.
"She clearly wants you to attack her. There must be something here." Diego has confirmed now that Althea had something planned. Although there is nothing that could harm them to death, they can't take any chances.
"Ah... I got it now! You're still the same slave. Disobedient and weak!" Althea's mockery was filled with venom.
That was Xendar's limit. His golden eyes flashed dangerously, filled with rage and power, as he glared at her. Althea smirked, provoking him further.
"No! Xendar! Don't lost it! She's doing it purposefully!!" Diego warned repeatedly, even attempting to take control, but Xendar was losing his composure, succumbing to his beastly instincts. Losing all control, Xendar marched towards Althea, his sharp claws ready to strike.
However, just as he was inches from Althea, a shimmering shield materialized between them. As Xendar touched the shield, a jolt of energy threw him back several feet, crashing to the ground.
A grunt of pain escaped Xendar as he crashed onto his stomach, the rough ground tearing at his skin. Scratches marked his body, evidence of the immense force behind the shield's impact. The shield had been strong—too strong.
Standing just out of reach, Althea let out a cruel laugh, her voice dripping with malice as she watched him struggle on the ground. Her comrades were not far behind, their laughter echoing around him, filling the air with mockery.
The sound of their amusement twisted in his ears like a blade, and the weight of their taunts pressed down on him. They were all too eager to see him in this state—vulnerable, defeated, at their mercy.
Xendar was really a pain in the ass for them. From the moment he had turned against them, casting off the chains they had bind him with, they had been determined to break him.
They wanted nothing more than to force him back into the place he once occupied—a place where he was small, insignificant, beneath their feet.
But no matter how hard they tried, they couldn't seem to capture him. Xendar was no ordinary foe; he wasn't just rebellious. He was powerful—wild, untamed, and dangerous. A true beast in every sense of the word.
