Meet the Ray Kokei

Ray Kokei is a remarkable teenager with a unique heritage. As a half-human, half-bird yokai, she possesses a captivating appearance and extraordinary abilities. In her human form, Ray has pale, light skin that accentuates the scar running across the bridge of her nose. Her striking yellow eyes radiate both curiosity and determination, and she sports white short hair with subtle black strands. But it is in her yokai form that Ray truly stands out, as two magnificent white wings sprout from her back. To maintain her secret identity, she employs mystic energy to conceal her wings and instead showcases two wing-shaped tattoos on her back.

Aside from her yokai lineage, Ray faces challenges that shape her character. She grapples with dyslexia, making reading and writing more difficult for her. However, she possesses a keen sense of hearing that allows her to perceive sounds others might miss. These qualities contribute to her unique perspective on the world and her ability to overcome obstacles.

Ray's best friends are none other than the heroic turtle brothers—Raphael, Donatello, Leonardo, and Michelangelo. Alongside them, she also shares a close bond with April O'Neil, a resourceful and fearless ally. These friendships have been nurtured through shared experiences, including their mutual association with Master Splinter, who taught Ray the art of ninjutsu. Ray's mother, who had a connection to Splinter, played a crucial role in aiding him during his initial mutation, which solidified their close-knit relationship.

Ray's weapon of choice is a mystic tessan, a traditional Japanese fan-like weapon, capable of producing powerful gusts of wind. This unique weapon complements her yokai heritage and offers her a range of offensive and defensive maneuvers.

Attending the same high school as April, Ray often finds herself caught up in the turtles' adventures. Together, they navigate the challenges of balancing teenage life and their superhero duties. Ray's presence adds an exciting and dynamic element to their team.

In terms of fashion, Ray expresses herself through a distinctive style. Her everyday attire consists of a black sleeveless shirt that opens in the back, which she pairs with a white cropped jacket, ripped black jeans, and white combat boots. However, when engaged in ninja activities, she dons a sleek ninja outfit consisting of a black sleeveless shirt, a white scarf, special goggles crafted by Donatello, baggy combat pants, white combat boots, a utility belt, and black gloves. In her ninja attire, she proudly displays her wings, showcasing her true identity and embracing her yokai heritage.

Ray resides in the sewers with the turtle brothers and Master Splinter, forming a unique and tight-knit family unit. They share not only their mutual missions but also moments of relaxation and camaraderie. Additionally, Ray occasionally hangs out at April's apartment, enjoying the company of her best friends outside their crime-fighting duties.
