Chapter 8

Sai got freshen up and came outside the room and saw Savi and Vinu sitting on the dinning table and amba and aji feeding them food lovingly. She smiled watching the sight.

Amba - Are Sai... aa bada khana khane baith ja.

Sai - Ji.

She came to the dinning table and Satya pulled out a chair for her.

Sai - Thank...(he glared at her) nhi bolungi.

Satya too sat down beside her.

Amba - Aaj na maine mithe mein kuch special banaya hai.

She opened the lid. Seeing the sweet Sai and Vinu's face brighten up while Savi and Satya made faces.

Vinu - Wow... Ukadiche Modak... ye to mere aur aai ke favourite hain.

Savi - Par mujhe ye bilkul bhi pasand nhi.

Sai - Savi... no tantrums !

Amba - Are bacche nakhre nhi karenge to kon karega ? Savi bada... aapko ek secret batau... aapke Sattu uncle ko bhi na ye Ukadiche Modak bilkul bhi nhi pasand.

Satya - Sattu nhi Satya ! Ye kya aai ab mai aur Savi kya khayenge ?

Maddy - Chinta mat kar... Badam halwa bhi banaya hai... Lekar aati hu.

Maddy brought the badam halwa and served it to Satya and Savi while Amba served the modaks to Vinu and Sai.

Satya watched Sai's every expression as she savoured the dish.

Sai - Wow... Aunty, ye boht tasty hain.

Satya - Are... to aur lo na.

Sai - Nhi...nhi..

Satya - Nhi..nhi kya..

And he stuffed her mouth with one full modak. She glared at him while he gave her a sheepish smile.

Everybody laughed watching this, while Amba mentally prayed to Bappa.

Amba (in mind) - Hey Deva ! Kuch aisa kar ki inn dono ka rishta dosti se aage badh jaye... ye dono humesha humesha ke liye ek ho jaye.

Everyone finished their dinner and went to their respective rooms.

A little while after the dinner Satya was passing infront of the guest room when he saw the door of the room was open. Sai was standing near the window and the children were asleep on the bed.

Satya lightly knocked on the door to gain her attention.

Satya - Mai yha se ja rha tha to door khula dekha... tumhe kuch chahiye ?

Sai - Nhi ...nhi. Bas neend nhi aa rhi thi to...

Satya - Oh ! Umm... Mai apne liye coffee banane jaa rha hu tum piyogi ?

Sai - Sure.

Satya - Great ! Come.

Sai came out into the living room and sat on the stairs of the glass door that led to the garden area. After a few minutes Satya came there with two cups of coffee. He offered one to her, took the another one and sat beside her.

Satya - Man mein koi baat hai to keh do.

Sai - Soch rhi hu... ki kuch hi dino mein kitna kuch badal gya. Main itne saal Kankavli mein Savi ke sath akele reh rhi thi. Apne zinda bete ko mara hua samjh rhi thi. Phir ek din achanak main Vinu se mili. Virat aur Patralekha uske parents nikle. Phir mujhe Vinu ke treatment ke liye Nagpur aana pada. Itne saal Savi ke baba ka sach maine chhupa kar rkha vo bhi bahar aa gya. Phir Vinu mera beta Vinayak nikla. Phir tum meri life mein aye. Pehle lagta tha ki kyun aaye par ab lagta hai ki acha hua jo mujhe tum mile. Phir vo court case... baccho ko sach pata chalna aur aaj main yha hu tumhare ghar mein. (Sigh !) Aane wala samay pata nhi kya dikhayega.

Satya - Exactly... Hume nhi pata ki aanewala kal kaisa hoga. Isliye apne aaj par focus kro. Apne baccho ke sath apni zindagi ki nayi shuruaat karo. Aur jaha tak mujhe pata hai... The Sai Joshi ko kisi ki zarurat nahi. Vo apni jimmedariya khud bakhubi nibha sakti hai. Apne aur apne baccho ke liye akele lad sakti hai aur Jeet bhi. Aur rhi baat ek dost ki to...mai hoon na. Kabhi aisa lage ki akele handle nhi ho rha to bas ek bar mujhe batana. Humesha tumhare sath khada rahunga. Kabhi khushi bantni ho ya dard mujhse aakar kehna. Tumhari Khushi ko dugna kar dunga aur tumhare dukh ko kam karne ki poori koshish karunga.

Sai smiled at him with happy tears in her eyes. Satya nodded in a no to stop her from crying. She wiped her tears and smilingly said...

Sai - Hmm... Gyan ki batein kafi achi kar lete ho tum. Aur ye coffee bhi boht achi bani hai.

Satya - Ab so jao jake varna The Punctual Dr. Joshi kal hospital ke liye late ho jayengi.

Sai - Good night.

Satya - Good night.

They went to their respective rooms and laid on the bed. "Humesha tumhare sath khada rahunga" kept ringing in Sai's ears. On the other hand Satya's mind too was again and again reminding him of the statement she made "Ab lagta hai ki acha hua jo mujhe tum mile." They both slept after a while with a calm smile on their faces.
