Chapter 31: New Beginnings. (Part II.)

(Around late afternoon, we stepped into Leah's grand house..)

Leah: So.. yeah. This is my home.

(We looked around in awe, the house had beautiful furniture, a stunning view into their garden which had a small koi pond and a fountain, the floor was polished light gray marble with golden cracks running through them.. the whole place had golden accents, which SHOULD look tacky in theory, but it all somehow worked.
N gave out a low whistle as he spun around taking it all in)

N: Ooh mamma mia.

Aiden: It's more pizzazzed than I thought.
(A butler? Servant? Uh, a 45-50 year old well dressed guy approached us)

Leah: Guys this is Edward. The housekeeper.

Edward: Welcome. (He bowed)

Aiden: Oh- You don't have to do that.

N: Tell him to stop, proper etiquette turns me on.
(He whispered, joking and Leah rolled her eyes)

Leah: Edward will help you to your room, which is the guest room upstairs, thankfully it already has two double beds.. which should be enough..?

Aiden: Yeah that will work.

Leah: I'll get to heat up the pizzas I ordered.
Edward? Please show to them their room.
(Edward gave a her nod and she walked towards the kitchen)

Edward: Gentlemen, follow me..
(He leads us to the stairs. Noticing that I didn't move, Aiden turned back)

Aiden: You coming?

Nathan: I'll be there in a minute.. you guys go ahead.
(Hearing that Edward came to me and picked up my luggage)
Oh no- There's no need, I'll carry it.

Edward: It's fine, there's no need to worry. The room is the second last door to the left.
(With some more reassurement he practically snatched the luggage out of my hand and then proceeded to lead Aiden and N to the room..

I started walking, feeling a little uncomfortable in a new place, eyes scanning the wall which wore a lot of medals, I assumed it belonged to Leah's father..
Hearing a sound in the kitchen, I made my way over to Leah, as I approached I saw Leah picking up some forks and spoons.
As she stood up, she saw me and gave me a quick smile)
Leah: Oh hey.
How did you like the room?
(She asked as she placed the utensils in their place)

Nathan: I didn't see it yet..
Just came.. to see if you needed help or anything.

Leah: I'm fine! Everything is in control.
(My nose picked up a smell)

Nathan: Why do I smell smoke?

Leah: OH SHIT! (She bent down and I heard some clinks and clanks, as she stood up, I saw her holding a tray of slightly charred cookies)
I'm learning to bake.. I totally forgot I put them in here.
(I chuckled)
You're enjoying seeing me fail huh?

Nathan: You don't get to see that a lot.
(She gave me a smile)

Leah: So.. like, how did it happen? Like you three? You guys are good together though.

Nathan: It just happened..
But it's.. not really, the best right now..
I might have said some.. stupid things? But..
I did it for the right reasons.
(She blinked a few times, trying to figure out what I meant)

Leah: Well whatever stupid things you said, hopefully it will all be alright.
Oh- that reminds me..
Come with me! (She grabbed my hand and led me to her room, it was not as pink as I was expecting. There was a board with a lot of interesting fashion designs which I was impressed by.)
