Chapter 9: Talk.

Nathan: Are you sure you don't wanna come?
(I said as I put on my jacket..
Aiden and I were going to the sorority house, He wanted to talk with Leah and I wanted to be there to support him, but N..)

N: Yeah, I have some other plans.
(I was a little bewildered by that statement he had been saying.
If N has some "plans" Me and Aiden are in it..
And if we're not, then he tells us what the "plan" is.
So.. what was this "plan" he was referring to?..
My thoughts came to a halt as Aiden put his hand on my shoulder)

Aiden: Thank you for coming with me.
(He said as sincerity sparkled in his eyes.
I gulped as feelings overwhelmed me, but I controlled myself)

Nathan: I- Of course..
I would always support you..
You're my.. friend.
(His eyes twisted down for a second. Was he.. Disappointed? Before I could overthink, he immediately looked up with a smile on his face)

Aiden: I really appreciate that.
Let's go?
(I nodded.
After saying goodbye to N we both head out..
The evening looked beautiful..
Pink clouds danced in the sky as golden rays of the sun hit the ground..
I couldn't even look at Aiden..
The sun was hitting him at a perfect angle..
His eyes felt like illuminated Amber..
The gentle gusts swept both of our hairs..
I knew I couldn't control myself if I took another peek at him.. So I kept my eyes to the ground.
The journey was dead silent. But it felt like we both were thinking about the same thing.
Was he feeling the same thing..?
I shook the thought off as we finally reached our destination.)
*Knock* *Knock*
(He knocked on the door, it was gentle but loud.
A blonde girl opened it)

Girl: Oh Hi Aiden, Wasn't expecting you..
But are you okay? After what happened-

Aiden: Hi Summer, is Leah here?
(Summer seemed dumbfounded, clearly not expecting Aiden to interrupt like that)

Summer: Yeah she is..
(Aiden went inside and I followed his footsteps)

Aiden: Leah! Leah!
(He called out as we reached the foyer.
An irritated Leah stepped out of her room.)

Leah: Ugh why are you screaming?
(Aiden didn't respond, Leah raised an eyebrow and started to make her way downstairs)
You're back huh?
(When she finally reached us she whispered)
I mean.. if you didn't come back..
You know what would happen-
(She smiled)

Aiden: Not here to stay nor I wanna say much.
(Aiden grabbed Leah's hand and made the palm face up, then he shoved the phone in it.
The color flushed from her face, she looked at him wide eyed)
I think this gives you an idea of what I am here for. (He took a deep breath and continued)
You know what's worse? You can be a very good person.. but you choose to be controlling..
As was I at one point. When I was going through something similar I also wanted control.
But you know what stopped me?
The thought of becoming like my dad..
So I don't understand how you look in the mirror and not see your own father..
The mirror image of someone who's "obsessed with control".. that's what you said isn't it?
It's done and we are done..
To be fair we were never a thing..
What I had for you wasn't love but pity..
And there's nothing wrong with it, I just wanted to be there for you.. to help you..
But you don't want happiness, you want control.
(He sighed)
Bye Leah.. I hope you stop doing these things..
Let's go Nathan.
(Aiden turned around and started walking, I followed suit but I looked back at Leah..
Her eyes looked like it was holding a tsunami yet, she stood there.. motionless.
With my last look done I followed Aiden out of the sorority house.
Aiden didn't said anything so I didn't as well,
Maybe he needed some silence..)

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!"

Nathan: What the fuck-
(Aiden's scream out of nowhere gave me a minor heart attack)
