Chapter 10

"Got this for you." Julian said, handing me a gift wrapped present.

"Thanks, Julian." I smiled at him and gave him a hug.

Chris threw me the party against my better wishes.

At first, I was adamant about him having the party but seeing how much effort he put into planning it all, I started to love the idea of it.

He made an effort not to do anything he knew I wouldn't like. He didn't invite too many people, he kept the guest list exclusive, just as he had promised. He kept checking things with me to make sure I was okay with everything he was planning and things he wanted to do.

I don't know what I did to deserve Chris, really.

The party had recently just started and few of our friends were still yet to come. I was already having a good time as it was. I felt really grateful to the people around me and the people that showed up. I had received gifts from Harry, Chris, my mom and now, Julian.

"I think that's another great perk of having a going-away party." I said to Harry and Chris who stood beside each sides of me. "I get gifts."

Julian, Chris and Harry laughed in unison.

"I'll go put this down." I said to them and excused myself, walking towards the dining table, where I had placed the other gifts I had gotten tonight.

Chris moved closer to Julian and they got lost in their own world, talking, while Harry followed closely beside me as I walked away.

"Quite the turnout." Harry said immediately I placed Julian's gift down. "Chris really outdid himself."

"Yeah." I smiled as I let my eyes take in the setting before me. I looked at him and spoke again, "Thank you again for showing up. I know it must not have been easy for the busy Harry Ronald to clear his schedule for simple old me."

He laughed, "Are you crazy? I wouldn't miss this."

I laughed along with him.

"I might have to leave early though." He said again.

"It's no problem." I nodded. "I understand."

"When are you gonna open my present?" He asked me, leaning his arm on a dining chair.

"Later." I told him then gave him a look when I noticed the look he was giving me. "Why are you looking at me like that?"

"Nothing." A smirk graced his lips.

"If you got me something obscene, I will cut you." I threatened him playfully.

"Wha-?" He threw his head back in laughter. "Why would you think that I got you something obscene? Jesus Christ."

"I don't know, maybe because you were looking at me like a creep." I couldn't help but laugh too.

"Well, I promise you, I didn't get you anything obscene."

"Good, because I would have-" My words fell short in my mouth when I noticed Dean walking over to where Harry and I stood.

His hair was the first thing I noticed; they looked shorter, like he had gotten a fresh haircut. His T-shirt was black and so were the jean trousers he had on, his Nike shoes were white though. He held his phone in one hand and a box which was gift wrapped in the other.

Our gazes remained locked until he stood directly in front of Harry and I.

"Hey Dean." I was the first to speak, with a smile.
