Chapter 40

"So," Lydia started, with a sly smirk, "how's it been like since Dean moved in?"

Lydia was in my office and we were both seated on the couch.

Heat flooded my cheeks immediately, "It's been, it's been fine."

It had been a few days since Dean moved in and it's been therapeutic for both of us. Moving in wasn't such a hassle, seeing as he didn't have much things with him in Bath, just his luggage and a few work papers.

He seemed more excited about the arrangement than I was. He kept saying how he had missed being able to wake up next to me and how his favorite thing was falling asleep knowing I was beside him.

Although I felt exactly the same way, it did set this bittersweet feeling knowing that this was very temporary and we would miss it painfully when he had to leave.

I didn't let myself dwell on that though.

"Just fine?" Lydia asked again, that sly smirk still on her face.

"Ugh, Lydia, it's been crazy." I tried to hide my smile as I ran a hand through my hair. "We literally cannot keep our hands off each other to save our lives. It's like every time I see him, my sexual emotions are heightened and whoosh, Niagara Falls. We've basically done it on every surface in my house at this point."

"Every surface?!" Lydia couldn't help but laugh.
My heart beat quickened its pace as memories started to flood in.

It felt electrifying all together just thinking about it. Dean had a way of making me feel like the most confident and alluring woman to ever walk this earth and I loved every bit of it.

I loved how he tended to be delicate even when he was being rough with me, I loved how verbal and communicative he was whenever we were at it, whispering sweet nothings and filthy things all at the same time. I loved how good having him in me felt.

"Ugh, it's really the honeymoon phase all over again." Lydia smiled. "I am so happy you're getting shagged, Grace. Get shagged as many times as you want, you both need to make the most of this time."

"Exactly." I chuckled.

"He's still coming for the staff dinner tonight, though, yeah?"

"Yeah." I nodded. "He is."

"Great." She smiled, then stood to her feet. "Anyway, I gotta head back to my office now cause I still have some designs to look through. Did you still help me hand over the worksheet to Connor yesterday?"

I looked at the file on my desk, "Shit, I forgot. I'm sorry, I'll head over to his office now and give it to him. "

"Okay, thanks love."

I followed closely behind Lydia with the worksheet in my hand as we both walked out of my office. We both went in opposite directions when she headed for her office and I headed for Connor's.

It didn't take long before I was standing in front of his office pushing the door open, seeing as it was only two doors away from mine. I instantly felt awkward for doing that because Connor was seated on his desk while his assistant, Greta was standing directly in front of him as they laughed about something they were probably saying before I arrived.

I should really learn to knock.

The sound of their laughter faded when they noticed I was standing by the door.

"My bad, I keep forgetting to knock." I apologized, reaching for the door knob in an attempt to shut it back. "I'll just come back later."

Connor noticed the file in my hand and quickly said, "No, don't be silly, come in."
