- Following the last chapter -

Anger, rage, fury. So many emotions encapsulated in Janet's mind, and that are just ready to get out. They already started to, actually: from her walk to her dark gaze, all of this is this ball of angriness that Janet can't fully contain right now.

Howard looks at her coming to her desk, silently looking at her and almost analyzing all these signs she's showing for long seconds.

"...it was about work?", he asks, after a moment of hesitation, to the still furious Janet.

"No, absolutely not. Apparently, I'm the only one here that is mandated at 7 sharp or the world will collapse."

Janet slams her coffee cup in the trash, not even taking care of emptying it first. She then quickly ties her hair in a sort of bun, still out of anger.

Dr. Erskine and Howard exchange a look together while she takes her stuff out, still with the same energy. Never have they ever seen her in such a state, even if it's been only a few days since they've been working together. They met the sweet, and even too calm Janet, the one that is almost invisible with this delighted expression on her face, but now it's all the opposite, almost a new person.

Erskine looks back at her before looking back at Howard, then at what he was initially doing. The doctor still has that attitude in which he stays in his bubble, isolated, always.

"You need a minute, maybe?", says Howard to Janet as he steps next to her, eyes on her face.

Putting her hands on her hips, Janet raises her dark-gazed brown eyes to Howard's ones who are completely giving the opposite energy, intending to calm her down. Still conveying the same anger through her eyes, she sighs, waiting a second before coldly answering.

"What I need is you to tell me what did you do while I was not there, then we go on mister Stark. Can we do that?"

Cold, even icy. This was another slip of the one emotion Janet has yet to learn to fully control. Frowning at her tone Howard stares at her for a few seconds, before looking down at the desk.

"We... continued on the same trial as last time, we didn't test it yet.", he replies, putting the notes in front of her.

"Got it.", replies Janet while practically snatching the notes from his hand. She then looks at them before going to the board to start to compute about them. Howard follows her from his eyes, still not sure of what to feel about this.

On the one hand, maybe that was actually the reason she was so introverted the first days, on her side, because she was just this mean person after all, he thinks.

But on the other hand, something about this morning's walk, something about this other person she actually was not later than this morning, and a few times before with him compensate for the person she is now, he also thinks. Something about his mind is more focused on her.

- HOURS LATER: STILL IN THE SSR BUILDINGS -

3 hours passed, the group is still evolving each on their own, Erskine is drown in his notebook while Howard is God knows where once again and Janet is sat at her desk, papers filled with her notes. Formulas, schematics, endless calculus for hours long. No matter how smart she is, Janet is also human, the saturation that gets to her mind at the moment is only natural, but she still tries to stay focused on her work, at least act like it to not get reprimanded again. She is not even paying attention to the outside world at the moment, or to the persons talking to her.

"Do you hear me?"

Janet raises her eyes to Peggy, coming back to her senses after a few seconds.

"Sorry, what?"
