Janet's soloist journey continues, and yet, Project Rebirth seems to stay in a static state. Progress there is, but given the hugeness of the project stakes, the advancements are nowhere near significant. Tomorrow is training day, which means some time away from the labs, computing, and theories, so less time pursuing this formula whereas each second must be a second to pursue this golden formula. Simple moments like drinking a coffee, hair or self-care moments, or even like here, packing things away, must be a moment to think, to think again and again. That's the mindset Janet has now her life revolving around.

"Hey."

Lifting her eyes from the book she was reading on the side of packing, Janet looks at Peggy who's standing next to her desk, gently smiling at her. These two are still in quite a peculiar state since the last talk they had, their relationship stays in this tumultuous state. Even if Peggy's smile is giving nothing else but caring and even sorority here, Janet's resentment feelings remain superior to this kindness. It's not voluntary, she is not a mean person, but the world has made her this person she's grown into.

"Hi, how are you?", answers Janet while looking down to her desk, going back to pack her things even quicker to leave fastly the conversation that just started, running away from an eventual other tumultuous moment. Peggy keeps her eyes on her face, taking a step closer to her friend.

"Fine."

Janet politely smiles at her and nods as a reply, finally finishing to clear her desk still without crossing Peggy's eyes, avoiding them. Taking her jacket in hand, she starts to quite rapidly contour her desk to leave, but she doesn't even have time to finish her sincere greetings that Peggy's words cut hers.

"Have a good night--"

"It's been a few days since I didn't see you.", says Peggy with this still kind smile on her face. Janet stays silent for long seconds, simply gazing at her, a compassionate gaze taking place instead of the grudgeful one she was wearing. Despise all this grudge she's having, she senses that all Peggy wants is a talk here. Just words from a friend to another, so maybe the conversation can be okay, she thinks.

Putting her bag back down on her desk, she fully turns back to her and nods, letting a slightly more sincere
smile getting drawn on her face.

"Yeah, there was a lot to do, I tried to be efficient on the theory and the testing. But you know, it's progressing, so."

"Oh, it is? I heard the opposite from your teammate over there."

Frowning at Peggy's words, Janet turns her eyes to the person Carter is eyeing to, and that is no one else than Howard, who's further, working on his own.

"That's a point of view issue.", replies Janet while looking back to her.

"Or... a communication issue."

And... another frown from Janet, who tilts her head to the side in confusion at Peggy's words. Looking at Janet silently a few seconds, she asks:

"What happened between you two?"

"What happened?"

"You don't seem to talk anymore, I mean, I last saw you joking with him Wednesday on your ladder, and then suddenly nothing."

Of course, it's about "them" again that Peggy wants to talk about, thinks Janet. It could be okay, she thought, but it's actually not. This makes Janet's compassion eyes go back to a seemingly dark one, the one she appeared to wore these last few days with her friend.

"And... now, this is wrong because..?"

"I'm sorry?", asks Peggy in confusion. Staring at her in silence with the still same eyes, Janet waits before answering.
