Janet's point of view.
• SAME TIME AS PART A •
It appears that I'm finally acclimating to the atmosphere of this place even if, quite honestly, I still don't know what is expected from us exactly.
Even if we're supposed to work as a team, it looks like kind of distancing myself from the peers I'm supposed to work with, especially Mr. Stark, brought me way less trouble and lecture over my head than my first days here. I mean, I don't know what was wrong with this exactly, but still.
Still, it's quite efficient. I did much progress this week, I don't really know if it's because of this distancing situation actually, but I don't see anything else that changed. It's more like it went back to a situation I was used to, actually.
I've always worked on my own, thought on my own, even had discussions only with myself sometimes, in all my career I never felt like I was understood enough actually, only me understood myself on that deep of a level and I'm fine with it now. I mean, I worked my way around it, it always got me some results at the end. Even here, all this I'm writing on the board I don't quite know if anyone would get it, precisely if Mr. Stark would since Dr. Erskine is also... still and always on his own, but that's okay. I think we're way better as a team of let's say soloists than a team team.
This soloist state got me where I am today, and it's a pursuit I can't let go of because of simple matters that are simply not important. Let's not introduce change to a situation that's already as good as it is. I got distracted these last few days, but I feel like I'm going back to the person I was, and that was already well far ahead.
"Care to explain what you're doing?"
My God, I didn't even see him. One step of me and I would've splashed to the ground.
"My God, you scared me."
"I can see that."
There's nothing to smirk about sir, it's not like I almost had a heart attack here. Sigh, I don't even know where I was.
"I'm just trying some elements simulations and variations for the last formula we had, focusing on the toxins and pathogens resistance. I did progress, but I also have some issues here and there that I'm stuck on."
I made a lot of progress, I really do feel like a step is being taken in that project. When I look at everything that's on the board, I know I did it, it's a feeling that I wouldn't be able to explain, but I know. It's also a feeling that I had before, but in response to that I usually had a... sort of return to reality, and not the same understanding from the other person, like I explained earlier.
But here, when I look down to Mr. Stark who's analyzing it I feel like for once the gaze is different, that it might not be a so confused one for once, but maybe - surely, actually - I'm kind of hallucinating.
"And you, what were you on?"
"Focusing on rays.", he answers, looking back at me and waving his notes at me.
I'm the one confused, here. What does this even mean?
"Would you mind being a tad clearer?"
"It would be crystal clear if you'd get down to read it."
"Mind you, I can listen as well as I can read, Mr. Stark."
