Janet's point of view.

• AROUND 5 PM - STILL AT THE SSR BASE •

It's only 5 p.m. however the work done today felt like forever. The hardest part of a project like this is finding the start to then find the destination of it. To be honest, I don't really know where to start, and the communication between Dr. Erskine, Mr. Stark, and I is not the best.

Dr. Erskine seems like a very mistrustful person, and it seems like Mr. Stark and I are both more comfortable working on our own even though I know we could comprehend each others ideas just like the time about the technology thing. However, we'll need to change that, because we're not progressing this way.

I raise my eyes and Erskine gets ready to leave, already? Either I'm working too much and this seems not normal for some reason, either I'm not.

"Are you leaving for the night, Dr. Erskine?"

"Yes, let's say the brain needs to rest a little."

Erskine smiles at me while taking all of his stuff, he never leaves anything here, I'm still not sure if it's about trust or else.

"Mr. Stark and I will take over then."

He stops for a second, turning his eyes at me while lighlty frowning.

"Actually Mr. Stark already left as well."

Oh, okay. I was not expecting something in particular but just a goodbye, maybe.

"I'll take over, then."

"Don't forget to rest, the body and the mind."

Dr. Erskine is a very, very considerate person but I don't need to rest already. I'm used to a harsher pace, and I'm not saying that to show-off or something like that, it's just that between the lab work at the pharmaceutical company, the training on the weekend, and taking care of my mom, resting comes after. Way, after.

"Have a good night, doctor."

Erskine leaves, I'm getting back to my work for two very, very long hours. The more I'm writing, the more I feel like it's becoming non-sense, the mess I did on the desk with all the papers speak for itself. The whole space is almost empty as everyone left, nights are progressively being shut off.

Maybe... as Erskine said earlier, the body and the mind need to rest. At this point, let's try that. There's only one place where they can.

30 MINUTES LATER - IN FRONT OF BUCKY'S HOUSE

I'm not even inside yet but I can already hear the joyful and full-of-life voices of this house. Every time I come here it's like I'm home again, a real home. I knock at the door hands full of groceries for them, Bucky's mother comes to open the door with a warm smile on her face.

"Oh wow, is it Christmas already?"

"Only for my favorite ones."

She laughs as she takes everything I have in my hands, I enter and close the door behind me, all smiling.

"You shouldn't have Janet, it's really nice of you."

"My pleasure, as always tell me if you need anything in particular."

"You don't need to, I know it's not easy for you too."

"Don't worry about me, it's alright."

She's completely right, though. Times are tough for everybody out there. I'm crawling about everything that it's due for me and my mom but I can't just not help them too, I can't just care less for them.
