• Next day: morning •

The alarm rings, only 3 times, and I instantly shut it down before laying on my back to look at the ceiling. It's 8 am, which is way, way later than my usual time to wake up but every time I come to the workshop around 7, Mr. Stark and Dr. Erskine aren't even there so I guess it's better if I come a little later to match their arrival time. I get out of bed and stretches, the sunbeams are warmly hitting my skin, it feels like a great day today, maybe it's because I slept more, I think James was right after all. I can't always ignore my body signs and force again and again, but if he knew why I'm doing it though... Anyway, let's not get started on another overthinking session and keep the day as light as it is for now. Same morning routine as always: quick cleaning in the house before showering and getting ready, but guess who didn't have the energy to do the braids yesterday and only had it to do the twists? So yes, it's going to be a simple twist out for today, looks like yesterday's choice has been made without even needing me to do so. It's 8h45 already I should get going, I don't want to be there too late. I quickly put my shoes on before leaving my house, the jacket in my hands.

It's a sweet weather today, the sun is not too harsh with a fresh breeze, perfect. I don't usually eat or drink anything in the morning, at least not at my house. I don't know why but I have this sort of bloc, it's 8h50, I think I have time to make a quick stop to buy a coffee, I'm already almost at the shop since it's on my way. Stepping inside this place in the morning feels weird now, it's been a while since I haven't been there since it's not open before 8. James and I used to come here every morning before school, then before work when we had the occasion to do so and now it's less often, and not here anymore, it's at my house the more often. I remember this exact table, the one in the corner, next to the window. James always sat in front of the glass because he knew that I didn't like people looking at me, even if I never told him. It was also perfect because the sun reflected in a so perfect way on his face, I loved looking at the contrast between his very dark hair and his beautiful, beautiful blue eyes. I got lost in them so much that I could describe those blue nuances by heart without any mistake. Bucky is not the most expressive person you'd know, but I can see each slight change of emotions in his eyes, whether it's passion, sadness, and even anger. The one I'd wish to see are his love eyes, they must be so beautiful, even more than what they already are. Sometimes I feel like I can see them like I can feel that type of gaze on me, but I know it's just another trick of my desperate mind and that's not it. At least not that love. The person who's going to see them is going to be so blessed, I just wish it could be me, even for a second.

"A latte and a caramel coffee as always?"

I turn my eyes at the voice I hear, coming back to reality. It's crazy how nostalgia can get you so far away.
Eva is widely smiling at me, I can't help but do the same. She is so nice, she has always been this positive and full of joy.

"- Your table is free, just as always.

- Not today Eva, I'm on my own.

- That's the issue West, it's been a while since you're on your own."

Eva warmly smiles at me before looking at James and I's table too. She's right, it's been a while since I've not been there sharing a coffee with my best friend, and I miss it like hell. It was one of our favorite moments, but I know it's also what caught me into these feelings which I'm trying to get rid of at the moment.

"- I know, James and I are--

- James, James, James.", says Eva while rolling her eyes, starting to get the coffee ready. I frown and turn my eyes back at her, still smiling.

"I've waited so long for you two to happen that I need something new Jan', someone else!" Eva lightly laughs keeping eyes on her work, I furrow my brows while looking at her, I can't believe what she said.
