"You know I can feel your eyes on me" my girlfriend mumbles as she wakes up

"Sorry I can't help it" I smile as her eyes meet mine a smile immediately tugging on her lips

"Weirdo" she chuckles pressing a kiss against my lips

"Your weirdo" I smile connecting our lips again

After that we both make our way into the bathroom washing our teeth together before getting in our clothes for the day.

"Wait is your audition today?" Hailee asks as we put our plates from breakfast away

"Yes, it's at 3" I say as I glance at the clock which reads 10:30

"Well you're gonna crush it" Hailee smiles placing her hands on my waist

"I hope so" I place my hands around her neck smiling

"I know you will" she pecks my lips

This is my first big audition after a big outbreak role in Hawkeye which is where I met Hailee. I've had a couple of side character roles but nothing big. This one is for a lead role in 3 season series for Netflix. The role would be so much fun to play and it would boost my career.

"Good luck babe" Hailee smiles pecking my lips

"Thank you darling" I smile exiting the car "love you"

"Love you too. Now go crush it" She smiles and I close the door watching her take off

Taking a deep breath I enter the studio and a woman approaches me.

"You're Y/n right?" She smiles and I nod "I'm Alicia I'm the director" she extend her hand

"I'm Y/n nice to meet you" I smile shaking her hand

"Nice to meet you too" she smiles "Let's get started shall we" I nod following her. Just as we arrive on set I get a message. I look down at it and see that it's from Hailee.

I smile at the texts before slipping my phone back in pocket.

"Okay and action!" Alicia shouts

It's been a month since my audition and I don't know if I got it. Every day I've been waiting for a phone call but that day doesn't come.

Suddenly my phone rings and I see it's my manager. I hesitantly pick it up.

(Y/n italic. Manager bold)

Hello?

Hi Y/n. How are you doing?

I'm good. How are you?

I'm good. I'm calling about the audition.

Oh did I--

You got it Y/n! Congratulations!

Oh my God no way! Really?

Yes really! You did it kid!

Oh my God! Thank you so much!

Of course kid! Now go celebrate I won't bother you anymore.

Thank you. Bye.

Bye Y/n.

I hang up still in disbelief. I laugh to myself just as Hailee enters our apartment. I immediately run to her launching myself in her arms. She's a bit stunned at first but hugs me back.

"Someones happy" she laughs

"I am" I mumble in her neck

"And why is that?" She places a soft kiss on my lips before pulling away and looking in my eyes

"I got the role!" I exclaim excitedly

"Really?!" Hailee exclaims

"Yes! I just found out" I smile nodding

"That's amazing Y/n" she says before pulling me in another hug before releasing me and kissing my lips passionately "I'm so proud of you" she whispers

I look at her a bit stunned with the words that just rolled of her tongue. Tears well up in my eyes as I look down at the floor.

"Y/n you okay?" Haille asks cupping my face making me meet her gaze

"Y-you're proud of me?" I whisper choking back a sob

"Yes I'm very proud of you" Hailee smiles caressing my cheeks with her thumbs. "Why do you look so stunned by that?" She asks softly

"I-I.. nobody ever said that to me before" I whisper as a tear rolls down my cheek

"Nobody ever told you they are proud of you?" Hailee whispers brushing my tears away

A faint 'no' falls from my lips as a sob escapes my mouth. Hailee immediately pulls me in a hug letting me cry into her neck. Tears uncontrollably fall from my eyes as a couple of loud sobs leave my mouth. Hailees hands run soothingly over my back.

"It's okay baby. Let it all out I'm right here" she whispers as my hand tugs on her shirt

After a couple of minutes my breathing calms down and pull back looking in my girlfriends eyes which are teary as well.

"I'm sorry" I whisper

"Nothing to be sorry for darling" she smiles "I can't believe nobody ever told you that" she shakes her head

"Yeah my parents weren't really that type" I smile even though I want to cry

"What not even when you got good grades?"

"Nope it was never enough for them they always wanted more" I whisper feeling tears pull in my eyes again

"Y/n" she cups my cheeks in her hands "I am so proud of you and how far you've come. You are amazing and beautiful, I love you don't you ever forget that"

"I love you too" I smile pecking her lips before hugging her tightly again.

That was the first time somebody said they were proud of me but tryst me it sure as hell wasn't the last time.
