A/n: a draft for u lot.

Summary: Y/n and Hailee never spoke a word to each other but they steal glances of each other in their shared science class

"I hate school" I groan leaning my head back against the locker

"And that is the 5th time you've said that this morning" My best friend Jenna laughs, stuffing books in her locker.

"I know, but it's true" I say "and we have science first period. That's criminal."

Jenna laughs at my statement, shutting her locker and adjusting the strap of her backpack which is loosely hang from her shoulder.

"Yeah, yeah. You never do anything anyway" she points out as I push myself of the lockers.

"Okay true" I nod, walking along side the shorter brunette "but still, it's so fucking boring" Jenna hits my arms "Ow! What the–"

"You wanna get detention for swearing again?" She raises a brow at me

"No" I mumble adjusting my bag over my shoulder

"Exactly so you're welcome" She says, running a hand through her hair

"Whatever" I roll my eyes at her as we enter the class. Jenna and I approach our seats, unfortunately we don't sit together. I sit at the right back corner and Jenna sits at the front in the middle row.

Sighing I drop my bag next to my chair and slump into my chair. I slightly move the chair allowing me to lean my back against a wall.

"Y/l/n can you please get your stuff out?" The teacher Mr Brown asks "and please at least pretend you want to be here"

"I'll try" I reply, opening my bag and taking out a pen, and my notebook. Dropping it on the table, I go to open it but immediately flicker my eyes to the door as I notice a tall brunette walk in. A smile immediately forming on my face.

She's accompanied by a couple of her friends, the room filling with her laughter. She playfully hits the arm of her friend, as she approaches her seats.

My gaze follows her. She drops her bag down, taking a seat and running a hand through her brown long locks.

She turns her head around, capturing my eyes which are carefully studying her. A small smile forms on her face as I look down at my notebook in embarrassment.

Taking a deep sigh as a small tint of pink appears on my cheeks I open the notebook at the next available page.

This so so boring. Science is always the most boring period and the one that drags out for so long.

Currently I'm doodling at the back of my back, not even making an effort to listen.

As I draw, I feel someones eyes on me. I lift my head up immediately capturing hazel eyes across the classroom.

She smiles at me, still holding eye contact. A smile sneaks its way on my lips, as I slowly get lost in her eyes.

"Y/n!" Mr Brown snaps me out "Can you answer the questions please?"

I freeze looking at him. No idea what he's talking about. Hailee shakes her head, laughing as I try to think of what to say.

"Uhm-" I fiddle with my pen "C-can you repeat the question please?"

"Were you not listening?" He asks, walking towards me

"I–uhm" I mumble. He walks over to me looking at my book, which has only the date and the tittle on the page.

"Y/n please see me after school. This isn't enough work" He shortly says. I groan and before I can even protest, he walks away.

I lean my head back on the wall. This is going to be a long day.

"Have a nice day Y/n" Mr Brown says as I leave detention. I smile at him but don't say anything back as I walk out of the classroom.

I make my way down the corridor, pushing the large doors open. Holding onto my bag I make my way to the football field.

As I arrive, I can already see our girls football team training. I shuffle my way to the bleachers taking a seat on the second row from the top.

My bag falls from my shoulder as I sit down, my eyes scanning the pitch for a particular brunette.

And there she is. Hailee Steinfeld. The hottest girl in our school and the football captain.

My eyes stay glued to her as I take in her presence. She's only wearing a sports bra and leggings, her toned arms and abs showing under the sun. 

As I watch her carefully she looks up her eyes meeting mine immediately. A smile on her face immediately forming. Still looking in my eyes she runs a hand through her hair, before winking at me and running away, continuing the drill she is doing.

My heart rate picks up, pink painting my cheeks.

Hailee and I never exchanged a word, but ever since the start of this school year we keep stealing glances during our science lessons.

The first time I came to her practice was with Jenna. Jenna was dating one of the girls on the team and decided to drag me along.

After that I go once a week and steal glances as Hailee trains. She always sees me, doing some stuff to make me melt on purpose.

I walk into school alone as Jenna has decided to betray me by skipping today, which unfortunately I can't do since that would be my third strike which would mean a suspension.

Lazily, I open my locker shoving some books inside.

"Y/n?" I hear a voice behind me

"Yea–" I pause as I turn around seeing Hailee stand there. I swallow hard, my eyes scanning her.

She's wearing a black shirt which is tucked sto some cream coloured pants. Her fingers are decorated with various rings and two necklaces hung from her neck. The brown locks are let down and reach just under her shoulders.

"Oh, Hailee hi" I smile, meeting her eyes

"Hi–uhm I just wanted to ask, if you uhm got the science homework done" She stutters, fidgeting with the rings on her fingers

"Oh uhm, yeah, yeah I did" I respond, feeling my heart pick up the pace

"Uhm I didn't really..understand it so I was wondering if you could show me how to do it" She asks, nervousness evident in her voice

"Oh, yeah of course" I smile, seeing her face drop in relief "when do you want to do it?"

"I don't mind maybe today after school?" She suggests

"Yeah that sounds good" I say, nodding

"Okay, I'll meet you outside at the end of the day" Hailee smiles and I nod. She walks away and I turn around to face my locker with the biggest smile on my face.
