Hailee and I broke up a month ago. It wasn't a messy break up and we definetley don't hate each other.

We broke up because we were taking different paths in life and the spark we once had just disappeared.

She is still my best friend and we spend all of our free time together. The love we have for each other is still there but our romantic relationship just won't work.

Currently we are sitting in my bedroom fantasising about what our future would look like.

"We should make a pact" Hailee suggests

"A pact?" I question in confusion

"Yeah a marriage pact" Hailee nods

"What the hell is that?" I chuckle

"If we aren't married or in a relationship by thirty we marry each other. So basically if we aren't married by 8 July 2023 we marry each other" She says with a smile

"I'm in" I say

"Promise?" She brings her pinky up

"Promise" I interlock our pinkies together as we smile

2 years ago.......
"Y/n!!" Hailee shouts bursting through my bedroom door

"Jesus! What?" I shout taking my headphones out

"He asked me out!" She says excitedly

"No way!" I exclaim

"Yes way!" Hailee drops on the bed next to me

"Tell me everything!" I laugh

Throughout the years Hailee and I grew more and more close. I would be lying to you if I said I wasn't madly in love with her.

I hoped the love would fade a way but it only became stronger. After high school we've never been together romantically. She's dated a few people and I've dated a few people. Nothing long term tho because I know I will never be able to love someone else other than her.

Present......
I stand at the end of the aisle as the beautiful brunette comes in sight at the end of the aisle. Her long white dress stretches around her a white bouquet of flowers in her hands.

The music starts to play as she walks down the aisle with her father right by her side. She flashes me a smile as tears pull in my eyes.

As she reaches the end of the aisle I clear my throat holding back tears. I smooth my hands over my dress as she smiles at me handing me the bouquet. She stands in front of him, her back turned to me holding his hands and gazing into his eyes.

My hand grips tigthter around the buquet as she exchanges her vows with him.

My eyes flicker down as a couple of tears escape my eyes.

"Hailee do you take Josh to be your husband to love him and respect him in anything life throws at you until death do you part?" The officer says

"I do" Hailee smiles placing a ring on his finger

"Josh do you take Hailee to be your wife to love her and respect her in anything life throws at you until death do you part?"the officer asks

"I do" Josh smiles placing a ring on Hailees finger

I zone out after that part looking around at the decor and the sunset in the background.

"You may kiss the bride"

Josh places his hands on her waist pulling her in and kissing her lips passionately. Jealousy burns in the pit of my stomach as I watch them but I force a smile knowing there is cameras filming me.

I zone out noticing a sign that says:
Hailee and Josh
     8.7.2023

I love her but she was never mine to lose. She is his she is always gonna be his. I'm just the best friend that wanted our pact to come true.
