"What time is it! Summer time! It's our Vacation"
"Sofia will you please shut up. you have been singing high school musical the whole journey"
"Sorry Carlos, i'm not wrong though. It's summer!!"
The pair were in a rented car, currently travelling to the coast of Croatia, where they were to meet a large group of friends to have the summer boat holiday of a lifetime. As they pulled up on the dock and she got out the car, she felt the warmth on her skin. She had travelled in leggings and a hoodie so safe to say she was sweating by this point. Lando came down to greet them as they got their suitcases out of the boot.
"heyyy guys, wow sof you must be hot"
"i am sweating my arse off"
"just take your hoodie off?"
"i cant"
"why"
"i've got nothing on underneath"
"so" lando said with a smirk. this earned him a slap across the back of the head from carlos as he dragged his suitcase up the ramp onto the boat.
"your a prick lando norris"
"only for you sofia sainz"
they both laughed and gave each other a short hug
"here let me get your case for you"
"no it's fine Lan honestly"
"no no, i insist" he went to drag it "bloody hell what have you got in here"
"i told you it's fine but now you've offered there's no going back" and she walked up onto the boat leaving lando with her suitcase and a smile on his face.

"oh my god sof!"
"hey sof"
There stood on the deck was Carlos, who she came with, but also charles, alexandra, alex, lily, george, carmen, daniel, heidi, pierre, kika, ben, mason, max fewtrell, ria, who sof had never met before but had seen her in plenty of quadrant videos and streams, max verstappen and kelly. Aside from Carlos, they were all already in bikinis and swimsuits, ready to set off as sofia and carlos were the last two to show up.It was a full boat but it meant they were going to have an amazing two weeks. Lando appeared behind her with her suitcase.
"come on, i'll show you where your room is"
He led her into the boat and up a few flights of stairs. It was a fairly big boat so to her surprise she got her own room.
"oh wow, didn't think i'd get my own room"
"all the couples are sharing, so since people like me and you are painfully single, we get our own space "
"i'm happy to share if you need the extra space"
"no no it's fine, there's room for you to have your own space, so you should take it"
"thanks lan. i'm gonna change then i'll head back down"
"alright"
he left and shut the door. she rummaged though her suitcase to find a white bikini along with a thin shirt to wear over the top while she walked around the boat. she quickly posted a story on instagram and made her way up to the deck to join the others.

As she walked out onto the deck, she noticed Carlos had also changed and was sat on the floor looking out to sea with daniel, heidi and charles. She turned her head and made eye contact with Lando, who was sunbathing alone. She made her way over to him and he sat up.
"you look so pretty"
She blushed at his sudden comment and even he seemed shocked he said it out loud.
"Thanks Lan, can i join you?"
"yeah of course take a seat"
He adjusted his sun bed so he was in a sitting position, as did sofia before taking the shirt off leaving her in just her bikini. She sat and turned her head towards Lando.
"thankyou for the invite"
"no worries atall. i couldn't imagine a better person to spend my summer with"
"ah yes, me, you, the sun, the sea. oh and the other 17 people on here"
he let out a laugh
"yep that's the one"
"we need to make sure we don't get papped though. imagine if the press see charles with alexandra and me with you. they will go crazy!"
"relax, they've seen you with her plenty of times at races and everyone knows we are close. they will just think it's friends hanging out"
"yeah i guess. i still hate this whole PR thing"
"me too"
"you hate my fake relationship?"
"yeah"
"why"
"no reason"
she looked at him suspiciously but let it go
"well don't worry Lan, i can't imagine it's gonna last too long. It's frustrated charles because all he wants to do it walk in public with alex or have her as his plus one to an event but he can't. he has to have me there. i feel like such a burden sometimes. Don't get me wrong, charles loves me to bits as i do him but it interferes with our lives too much, more him than me"
"well don't worry. i'm sure soon you'll find a guy who wants you to be there with him at events and wants to walk down the streets holding your hand"
she looked at him
"you think so?"
"i know so"
"thanks Lan"
"no worries sof"
they sat there in a comfortable silence for a while before she spoke up again.
"help me?"
"with......?"
"i need photos for instagram and your now my official photographer"
She handed him her phone and went to the edge of the boat. he stood and followed without saying another word. She did some poses, some sitting some standing. Every now and again Lando would make a funny comment like "get it girl" or "slay queen" which would make her laugh. Lando found this as the perfect opportunity to capture her natural smile, something he really liked about her.

She stood up and sat next to him, shoulder to shoulder on a sun bed.
"ok show me"
they flicked through the photos together.
"Lan i love them all, help me pick"
"i like them all you look amazing but i think this one is the best"
he pointed at one of her sat on the cushioned bench, sunglasses in hand, leaning her head back enjoying the sun.
"Perfect"
"don't think you've escaped sof, your taking photos of me now"
she rolled her eyes as she took his phone off him and stood up.
