It was thursday and the summer break was over. Carlos had invited Sofia on his track walk, which she was happy to accept. She loved spa and made sure she was at the grand prix any time she could. As they were walking she noticed Pierre towards the side, laying flowers. She gave him a minute before excusing herself from Carlos and walking over. She stood next to him in silence. "He didn't deserve to go that young Sof" "i know pierre. he's proud of you" "i hope so" "you proved everyone wrong, just as he wanted. you won in monza with the team" "yeah true" he sighed "go and race for him this weekend, as i'm sure you do all the time. he's watching down on you. every race. every quali. every day" he smiled and gave her a hug "thanks sof" "no worries pierre." she looked over at Carlos and his team "i'll see you later yeah?" "yeah i'll come find you. thankyou sof" She smiled and headed back over to Carlos.
Further round the track she got a message.
Charles🏎️: Hey Sof, are you free?
Sof💙: i'm on a track walk with Carlos, why?
Charles🏎️: my PR manager is here with yours. i'd imagine they want to talk about the inchident
Sof💙: no way did you just say inchident💀
Charles🏎️: focus sof
Sof💙: yeah sorry, i'll come find you when we get back to the paddock
Charles 🏎️: alright x
"I need to go find Charles when we get back. Our managers wanna talk about him being spotted with Alex and to figure out where we are gonna go from here" she said looking up at her brother "and what do you want to do from here?" "i want it to end" "because of a certain curly haired papaya driver?" he said smirking "i knew that was coming" she said giggling and rolling her eyes. They continued walking round the track, Carlos analysing corners and speaking with his team.
When they got back to the paddock, they were walking towards the ferrari motorhome when they saw Lando and Daniel doing an interview with sky sports. "Landooooo" carlos shouted he turned his head "carlooooos" everyone giggled as sky invited carlos over. Sofia followed them and stood off to the side behind the camera so she couldn't be seen. The three of them had a laugh with the sky sports f1 team befire they were asked about the summer. "So Carlos, we saw that over summer you and a few drivers, including Daniel and Lando here, spent time together including a karting competition. How was that?" "uh yeah it was quite exciting. to come away with the win definitely boosted my ego" Lando spoke "you only just won though. what was the gap? 1.4 seconds?" "1.2 i think it was. i was under pressure from my sister Sofia at the end" he said nodding towards Sof. she let out a smile. Natalie signalled for Sofia to join the boys, and after some hesitation she went and stood in between Carlos and Lando. "do you reckon you could have beaten him?" she then asked her Lando handed her his microphone as they sent a smile to each other "i could have easily won, i let him stay ahead. just being a nice sister of course" they all giggled "did you not get fed up, surrounded by all those drivers stuck on a boat with them?" "oh definitely, they all get on my nerves" she said sarcastically "especially Lando" "oi" lando said, playfully nudging her. they looked at each other and smiled. The four of them were asked a few more questions before they were all dismissed.
The four of them began to walk down the paddock. Carlos and Daniel slightly ahead. "fancy some lunch?" lando asked her "i'd love to Lan but i have a meeting with Charles and our PR managers." "oh about the kiss" "exactly" "another time then. hopefully after all this is over we will be able to have lunch together when ever we want" she smiled "yeah i'd like that" "i'll see you later sof" he said as he headed towards mclaren with daniel "see you Lan. Bye Danny" Daniel waved at them. ————————————————————————
"Sofia, thankyou for joining us" Charles PR managers said as she took a seat next to charles. "so as we know, Charles was pictured with Alexandra in the boat, kissing, which has set off a whole bunch of news stories" Charles and Sofia nodded "so we have two options for the two of you. 1-we ignore it and just continue the relationship and try and play it by avoiding it or 2-we release a statement saying you two broke up before this kiss happened and that you remain good friends. now obviously this would-" "NUMBER 2" they both said before Charles PR could finish "are you sure?" Casey (sofias PR manager) cut in Sofia looked at him "yes. this relationship isn't working for both of us" "alright, let's figure out what to say"
They spent 20 minutes putting together a statement for them both to release. They managed to make it sound good without making anyone seem like the bad guy. They made sure everyone was aware they are still good friends and will probably still be seen around the paddock together.
The two of them walked out of ferrari together and let out a breath they didn't know they were holding. Charles turned to her and held out is hand. "it was a pleasure breaking up with you" she giggled before shaking it "likewise. you'll always be my favourite ex" he laughed and pulled her in for a hug. "so are you bringing Alex to Zandvoort?" "i don't know yet. maybe? would it not be too soon?" "people have seen you kiss. i'd say you can bring her into the paddock" "i'll think about it. looks like someone is waiting for you" she turned around and saw Lando stood looking over towards her. she turned back to Charles "go on" he said giggling "see you later charles"
"hey Lan" she said after walking over "i saw your statement" "yeah. sadly we have broken up" she said faking being upset "oh shut up" they both giggled "i've still not been for lunch if you want to accept my offer?" he said hopefully "of course i'd love to have lunch with you" she smiled as they headed towards hospitality ———————————————————————
