Hiashi sat in the chair of the cafeteria with Minato, eyes on Naruto as he helped Hinata. She couldn't speak due to her throat injury. Luckily she didn't have any broken bones, although she had to take it easy on her ankle due to being stepped on until the joints popped. One of her eyes were hidden under an eye patch. Hiashi sighed, his hands gripping tightly.

Hiashi had never thought of himself as a good man but neither did he think of himself capable of callous disregard to the lost lives around him. But when he received the call that the three boys that had harmed his precious daughter had perished one after the other after falling into a mysterious coma, Hiashi actually smiled. At first he was horrified by his reaction but at the same time he couldn't bring up any feeling of guilt for feeling the elation that he did. With how bad the law on rape in Japan was, he had worried about Hinata's safety as well as her mental state whenever they be released in the future. But now that they're dead, he didn't have to worry about it.

Cold? Perhaps. But he felt that people that would harm others for pleasure does not deserve to live. To them, it might be only a night of mistake. A night that they would have to spend the next few years stuck behind bars. But for Hinata and others like her, it would be the start of nightmares and paranoia. How could she feel safe in the presence of others when she can't even feel safe on her own? How could she trust others when something so horrid happened to her? How could she love another person when she was made to hate herself? Intimacy was supposed to be an act of trust, the ultimate trust. It was more than just pleasure. The scars on her body might heal but the scars on her heart will forever mark her life.

However, someone healed the worse of her scars by simply being there. It wasn't him or Neji or even Hanabi who would love her sister no matter how tainted she believed herself to be had she really been ravaged. No. It was this blond boy that's helping her with her still sore ankle. Naruto might have made a mistake of leaving her alone on the hill that night, but their town was supposed to be safe of such hooligans. However, he was also the one to rescue her and also the one that Hinata trusted wholeheartedly to never hurt her. Somehow, after what had happened, she was fearful of men and Hiashi felt saddened that she flinch at his approach even though she was still warm with him and smiled at him with tender love in her eyes. However, whenever Naruto appeared she will grab his hand and pressed herself against him like he will shield her from the whole world. Somehow, Hiashi did not doubt that Naruto would do exactly that.

He was far from annoyed of her sudden clinginess, like most boys would be especially at the level Hinata was. If anything, he seemed to be just as equally clingy. In fact, Hiashi suspected that the boy had become overprotective of his daughter. Whenever someone came close to her, he will loom over them like Hinata's personal sentinel. When her friends came, not knowing the true reason behind her hospitalization other than an accident, Naruto would be in the hallway keeping an ear on their conversation as if he was concerned that she will be hurt by their ignorance.

He acted like a trained bodyguard.

He looked at Minato, "I would like to hire your son,"

Minato choked on his fruit jelly before gulping down with the help of his juice. He looked at Hiashi, "Hire him for what?"

Hiashi turned towards where Naruto let Hinata lean on him for support, "To guard Hinata,"

Minato sighed, "Is he even qualified?"

Hiashi shrugged, "He already behaved like one, either way,"

Minato frowned, "Naruto is just feeling guilty over what happened,"

Hiashi looked at him, "Minato..."

Minato closed his eyes, "Did you know why I even moved to Japan, Hiashi? I didn't realize how terrible it was for my son that I only came to know the depth of his misery when I found him bleeding from his wrists in the bathtub,"
