Burr was making his way down the school hall at the end of a very tiresome Wednesday. The temperature was still warm and the sky was still sunny, so students still took off their thick blue blazers, managing the best they could in the summer heat. The young man had not heard very much from Hamilton since the Monday which they had studied together - he was on the fence whether he was concerned or not, so he'd decided to shoot the boy a quick message to ask if he was doing alright.

Aaron was aware of Thomas stepping down from his cruel games because he had announced it on their group chat, however he was now tethered to Alexander's attention so he decided the best option for now was to keep faint contact with him until it was no longer needed. The boy found himself walking out of the school building, headed to meet with Alexander near-by. On his way past the gate, the boy was staring down at his phone intently, the messages between him and Alexander open - however he paused as he heard two muttering voices which he recognised. Burr listened out carefully to see if he could identify them as the people they belonged to.

"I don't really know what to do now" muttered Thomas's voice, a little muffled as it came from a little further away, seemingly behind a bush which was too tall to allow Aaron to see them, or for them to see Aaron. The boy slowly tread closer as he focused on making out the words he was hearing. "You just leave everything alone and let things calm down" calmly suggested Madison, the second murmuring voice which Burr was hearing. But what was Thomas doing here? he wondered. A small moment of quiet fell before Thomas spoke up, "I would but I think one of his friends thinks I'm going to start rumours" sighed Thomas - "What? What do you mean?" asked James, sounding collected as he usually did. He was the more rational of the pair. "Well.. how do I put this.." Thomas trailed off "John ended up admitting something to me yesterday, I think he's scared of me" said Jefferson slowly, seeming to step around certain words as if saying them would trigger a summoning of sorts. "What do you mean? I don't understand" James replied. Burr narrowed his eyes as he listened closely, pretty much up near the bush at this point. A sigh was heard from Thomas as he started to speak in his usual sassy voice,  "John admitted he liked Alex. He got scared. He thinks I'll spread rumours. Now I need to watch my back because I don't know if he's planning something." explained Jefferson in simple terms. "Ohh.. oh shit" came Madison's voice. Burr's eyes widened a little as he listened to this, how come Thomas didn't tell him too? "Come on we'll talk about it on the way" sighed Thomas, before footsteps sounded, gradually getting further into the near distance as the voices faded. Burr took a moment to think to himself, surprised by the news accompanied by the feeling of what resembled betrayal.

Burr continued to be lost deep in thought as he began to walk forward, confident that the two boys had left. He couldn't help but wonder about the situation he'd overheard and he hadn't realised just how far forward he ventured until a voice had jolted him to reality. "Aaron-" Burr took a sharp breath in through his nose as he looked over to the familiar voice's owner. Alexander stood there, still looking tired as ever. "Ah, Alex." Burr turned to face him, putting on a small smile, scanning the boy's horrible appearance. "You look..." he trailed off so that Alexander's mind could fill in the obvious blank - the other boy sighed. "I know." he stated. "Have you not slept?" asked Burr, "Is it the project?" he also asked. But Alexander shook his head, "Partially..." he muttered, lifting his hand to awkwardly rub his neck for a moment. "What do you mean?" asked Burr, looking at the boy for an answer as Alex avoided eye-contact. "Uh... Eliza broke up with me" he muttered sheepishly, his voice so low it could barely be told apart from a senseless mumble - his face dropped at the words, the boy was slightly embarrassed to once again admit what had happened. "Oh shit.." Burr looked to Alex with sympathy, "You two seemed so perfect for eachother" he pointed out, which caused the other boy slight pain as he sighed deeply, groaning internally. "Yeah.." muttered Alex in a mumble, "I'm sorry man" Aaron said. "I mean... at least you two weren't together that long..?"
