Misunderstanding

Wednesday walks in at the wrong time. Was Xavier cheating or was it all a big misunderstanding?

As requested by

..................

Time ticked by as fast as a slug. A slug on a burning hot sidewalk. In Wednesday's words, time was just not going fast enough. The classrooms steamy hot interior (Mr. Ramsay REFUSED to turn on the air conditioning.) was filled to the brim with groaning, napping, or just totally confused teenagers.

How Wednesday wished class would end.

It was Xavier's free period, and hers was next. She planned on giving him a heads-up on how terrible history would be today.

Tick.

Tock.

Tick.

Tock.

RINNGGGG

"And that concludes class for today! Please leave your textbooks on the table on your way out!" Bellowed the fat balding man from his desk.

Wednesday tossed the old peeling textbook to the table. It skillfully landed smack on top of the few already placed textbooks.

She calmly walked outside of the classroom. Everyday her and Xavier would meet behind a statue off the side of the quad, the few minutes between periods would be spent with small talk (one of her least-favorite things) but Xavier enjoyed it, so she went along with it.

She was becoming her mother. But maybe that wasn't a bad thing.

She rushed over to the statue. She paused as she heard voices coming from behind it. This was a rare occurrence, everyone knew her and Xavier had claimed that spot. So she was slightly confused when she heard voices.

She got EVEN more confused when one of those voices she recognized as Xavier's.

"Wednesday doesn't have to know."

Xavier groaned.

"Listen-"

"No, Babe, it's all good. Seriously, you really need to relax."

Wednesday angled herself so she could see.

She watched the taller, blonde looking up at HER boyfriend. Speaking of Xavier, he looked genuinely confused.

Wednesday was about to say something snarky and step out of the shadows, when the girl wrapped her arms around Xavier's neck, and reached and and kissed him.

Wednesday could see from where she was standing, that said girls tongue had slid directly into Xavier's mouth.

So she did the only logical thing. She ran.

................

"Jesus Christ Wednesday, you can't ignore me forever! You'll have to tell me why you're so pissed off at some point. Why can't we just skip all the racket and you just tell me."

"No thanks."

Xavier looked so upset, and it hurt Wednesday, it really did, but he had hurt her more, so she refused to feel pity for him.

..................

Day four passed, and Wednesday still was yet to speak to Xavier, and they had stopped meeting up behind the statue.

And boy, was she miserable. If she thought she could make it a week without him, she was damn wrong.

But she felt betrayed by his actions. She had never cried so hard in her life. Actually, she had never cried more than twice, both being the death of Nero, and the near-death of Thing.

Was this really as bad as death?

In her mind, yes.

....................

Our boy Xavier's POV!!!

Wednesday had been ignoring Xavier way to long for his liking. Not that he ever liked when she ignored him.

It had taken five days for him to put it together. He hadn't meant to kiss that girl. He certainly didn't want to. Wednesday had just walked in at the wrong time. Oh lord, Wednesday. Would she even believe him? Was she upset enough to break up with him? Jesus, would she break up with him?

So Xavier made his way up to Ophelia hall, and knocked gently on the door.

"Wednesday, open the fucking door."

"Don't tell me what to do."

"I will break the door down, I mean it."

"Then do it."

Well, there was no way in hell that he could break the door down, so he simply slipped a bobby pin into the lock. He brought one in case this is how it would go down. He didn't need physic powers to know she wouldn't let him in.

"Wednesday can we talk?"

"Is that not what we're doing?"

"Stop with the attitude."

She spun around so fast he barely saw her. Her rage made her seem like a mini tornado.

"NO, don't you FUCKIN START WITH ME," She stood on her toes so she could point her finger at his face. "I didn't do anything. ANYTHING! And I turn the corner to see you swap saliva with another girl?! Was I just not enough? The pieces aren't coming together, Xavier!"

"Wednesday, she kissed me, I didn't want to kiss her."

"Don't give me that bullshit."

"Wednesday-"

"Get out."

Xavier was not leaving until they sorted this out.

"Wednesday, I hope you realize that I love you, and only you. And I will only love you forever, even if you took my heart and rolled it in the dirt, smashed it and spit on it. It was all a misunderstanding, and you are the only person who has my heart. Forever. Do you understand that?"

Her eyes widened slightly.

"Xavier, I- I apologize. I love you too."

He gently reached down and picked her up. He saw the shock in her face when she had to wrap her arms around his neck and her legs around his waist to hold herself up.

"Don't you ever, EVER think for a single second, that I don't love you."

He kissed her forehead and walked over to set her down on her bed.

"Now, Xavier, if you'll excuse me, I have a girl to beat the shit out of.
