5 times Xavier's said "I love you"
1 time Wednesday said it back.
.................
Xavier and Wednesday's relationship had been unexpected to say the least. It was an automatic change, no easing into it. They went from classmates to lovers. And that was that. Wednesday would spend day after day in Xavier's art shed, snuggling against him on the small couch he had purchased (for her). The warmth and comfort of just sitting in his arms is something she had never expected to enjoy so much.
But she did.
As she lay there, snuggling into the crevasse of his arm, a soft movie playing in the background, he leaned down and kissed her forehead.
"I love you." He mumbled very softly.
And she couldn't say it back, the words to foreign and weird on her tongue. She did love him, truly, she did, but the words didn't come out. She just couldn't do it.
"I know."
.................
Xavier had watched as Wednesday won round after round at the carnival. He brought her there, as a fun activity to pass time. He never expected to be bringing an entire truck full of prizes back to his dorm. But then again, there was no beating a competitive Wednesday Addams. He laughed as she managed to ring all 10 of the rings on the bottles, the man behind the booth looking insanely shocked, and passerby's looking mildly impressed. He shook his head in disbelief as his small girlfriend handed him a purple gorilla.
"As if we don't have to many already."
"We haven't gotten a purple one yet." Xavier shrugged. "And no one is forcing you to play the carnival games."
Wednesday shrugged him off, and ran off to play the basketball game. Xavier chased after her and watched in amazement as his girlfriend got shot after shot. Adding a stuffed unicorn to the collection he laughed.
"God, I love you."
................
Wednesday was as excited as she could be. She didn't show it, of course, her outer layer remaining completely cold and snappy, and very few people could notice the change in attitude.
"What's got you so happy?" Xavier asked the moment she entered the shed.
She let out a small squeal, and a grin spread across her face. Xavier faked shock.
"Who died?!"
"No one died, silly! Someone finally accepted publishing my book!" She squealed, her squeezed fists coming to rest on her chest.
"WAIT REALLY?!" Xavier said, a smile lighting up on his face, identical to his girlfriends.
She nodded happily and allowed him to pull her into a bone crushing hug.
"I'm so proud of you!" He said. She leaned up and kissed him softly.
"I can't believe it!" She sighed happily.
"I can." He laughed gently. "I love you so fucking much!"
......................
Maybe Xavier was right, maybe going to the Rave'n with him would be fun. But since the moment she accepted the invitation, she all but dreaded the dance.
She sat in the corner of the dance, deeply regretting the decision the come. Until Xavier came over with drinks. He set them down on the table rather than handing one the her.
"You like dancing, right?"
She looked at him skeptically. "Yeah, why?"
"Dance with me!" He grinned cheekily, reaching his hand out. She carefully took his hand.
He dragged her to the dance floor. He smiled as they danced, hand in hand. The fast, exciting music pumped Wednesday up, and she had a small smile on her face. He thought it was adorable.
Soon though, the fast music ended and a slower song came on. Wednesday made to leave the dance floor, but Xavier pulled her back. They swayed to the music lightly.
"I love you."
........................
Wednesday knew high school coming to an end would probably would mean a long distance relationship with Xavier. She didn't want to break up with him, but they did have to go separate ways to college.
Xavier hugged her a graduation, but made no move to tell her how they were gonna keep up the relationship.
She walked with him to the small lake on the school grounds. He dragged her there, coming to a stop.
"Wednesday?"
"Mhm?" She said, looking up at him.
"So I understand that going to college will mean that we no longer will be near each other."
"Yeah." She said, nodding.
"So before we go I wanted to ask you something." She gave him a confused look.
He got down on one knee. "I know that we are still young, and there is a fair chance you'll say no, will you marry me?"
She nodded rapidly. "Fuck, y-yes!"
He smiled and wrapped her in his arms, pure joy written across his face.
"I love you."
.......................
"Do you, Wednesday Addams, take Xavier Thorpe to be your lawfully wedded husband?"
"I do." (I don't know how tf weddings work, I'm 13 and I've literally never been to one???)
"You may kiss the bride"
And that he did, bending down and placing his lips softly on hers. "I love you so fucking much." He whispered in her ear when they parted.
"I love you too."
And the look of pure joy on his face at those words made all those years of waiting worth it.
..........................
Like I said, I have no idea HOW weddings work, I'm literally 13 and have never been to one, and probably won't anytime soon.
