Episode 5: I Deserve To Be Here!

Izuku Pov:

My mom was ecstatic to find out I made it into UA, and the two of us ended up flooding our apartment complex with tears.

Kacchan and I both went back to our middle school to let them know we had officially made it into UA. The teachers and especially other students were completely shocked I had made it in. I'm not a prideful person at all... but I felt so good being able to show them all I made it.

But it wasn't all happiness that day. Kacchan was glaring daggers at me that whole day and when we both went to leave he shoved me into a corner outside and held me against the wall from my shirt.

"HOW THE HELL DID A SHITTY NERD LIKE YOU MAKE IT IN? I WAS SUPPOSED TO BE THE ONLY ONE FROM THIS BUM ASS SCHOOL THAT MADE IT IN! "

He yelled in my face. His expression was of genuine frustration. I can partially understand. From what he knew, I was the same quirkless boy. At the time I wished I would've responded with a well thought out answer.

I would've rather I stuttered out a messy response as I cowered in fear. But for some reason, my bolder side came out. And I decided to fan the fire.

"I didn't j-just make it in Kacchan. I was n-number one." I said with a small smile etched across my face. I was trembling because I was nervous but my eyes had nothing but confidence in them.

Kacchan's face became flushed with anger as his free hand that wasn't holding me against the wall, crackled with explosions. I don't know if he was just threatening me or planning on full on hitting me like he did when we were younger. Either way, I wasn't taking the chance.

I used 8% of One For All in my arm and grabbed his wrist. He tried to pull out from my grip, but I held on tight. He was dumbfounded not just by the fact that he couldn't break out of my grip. The weak Deku's grip. But by the fact that red veins spread throughout my arm.

"Y-YOU HAVE A FUCKING QUIRK? THEN WHY DID YOU LIE TO ME THIS WHOLE TIME? WERE YOU LOOKING DOWN ON ME?"

"No Kacchan. I'd never l-look down on you. In fact, I've only looked up to you. Despite everything you put me through, I want to be able to stand by your side one day. As an equal. As a true friend."

He growls at me and uses mini explosions to propel his hand out of my grip. He stands there looking at me but for once I'm not backing down. I puffed out my chest and stared back at him.

"You b-bullied me. But I w-wouldn't say it was all y-your fault. The other kids shouldn't have supported y-you and made you think it was ok. Our teachers shouldn't h-have condone your behavior. Even I should've done more. Like told our parents."

His expression falters. I think I'm getting to him.

"But I never did. Because I want you to be a hero. And I a-also want you to be there when I become a hero. I want you to see me reach my goal. So l-like it or n-not. You can't stop me anymore."

Before anything else could happen, a teacher came over and told us to quit loitering around. Kacchan left Immediately without saying another word to me. And obviously I haven't talked to him since. Though I'll see him today. Because today is my first day at UA.

I started walking my way into UA. Wally said he didn't know the details of his job yet, but he would try and talk to me if he got a chance. The acceptance rate for the hero program this year was 1/300. Which was about the size it usually is. Four people got in from recommendations, and thirty six got in through the regular exams. Meaning we were split into two classes. I was placed into 1A. the main course.

After roaming the halls for a minute I found the door to my class and stopped in front of it. Wait a second. Why is this door so huge? Oh my gosh. It goes up to the ceiling. Stop. Focus Izuku. Behind this door are probably most of the country's best future prospects. And I get to be a part of this group. Suddenly my mind thinks to Bakugo and the glasses guy who kept trying to get on to me before.
