Episode 15: World's Finest

The students stand there in shock still. Much to Aizawa's amusement. Nezu explains that the win conditions will be to either escape the arena through the exit. Or to capture the teachers in handcuffs. Explaining that running away is allowed, because in a real fight. Faced against an opponent much stronger than you. Running for backup is a valid strategy.

All the fights will be taking place at the same time in different areas. The teachers will be wearing compressed weights to slow their movements. Making fighting still an option. And the kids have 15 minutes to talk strategy with their partners and report to their designated area. Izuku turns to a nervous Uraraka and calmly places his hand on her shoulder.

"Come on, Ochaco. You'll do great. You always do. Let's win so we can all go to the summer camp together." She comes to her senses and smiles determinedly at him. "Right, Deku. You better win, even if it's against the Flash." The two bid farewell as Bakugo and Deku begin walking to their area in silence. After a moment, Izuku finally breaks it.

"Kacchan. We have to come up with a plan to escape. I think it's best if we try and-

"You want to run?" Bakugo says with a raised eyebrow. Surprisingly more calm than Izuku expected.

"Well, yeah I mean-

"You want to run?"

"Yes, Kacchan. If we-

"From the Flash?" Bakugo begins to chuckle. And Izuku feels frustration building within him. "Ok, and you want to fight him? They both seem like terrible options, don't they?"

"So come up with one of your stupid plans then." Izuku pauses and sees Bakugo look off to the side, away from him. "In the heat of battle, I don't think anyone in this school makes better split-second decisions than me. But planning things out, predicting your opponent's moves and actions. That's always been your thing, you shitty nerd."

Bakugo stops and turns back to Izuku. His face filled with mild annoyance. "You know my moves. You know Flash's moves also. You study people like a damn stalker. So use that and come up with a plan, loser. And when it inevitably goes wrong, I'll bail you out so you can make another one."

"Kacchan, you're really ok with working with me? What about that whole crushing me in the finals thing?" He grumbles and rolls his eyes. "I'm still going to do that. The star out there in our fight is going to be me. But I know... Even heroes can't do everything alone. Don't think this makes us fucking friends though."

Izuku chuckles as he starts discussing strategy with Bakugo. While they talk, Bakugo starts to do some light exercise. Jumping jacks, push-ups, squats. From a distance, Wally smiles. The two of his students looking a lot more like partners and friends than where their relationship started before UA.

As the time winds down. Izuku and Bakugo enter their area. A city scene with skyscrapers around. Bakugo looks at Izuku.

"So nerd. High ground, low ground, street, alleyway?" Izuku looks around quickly while thinking.

Stick to the open for now. The Flash is cocky, likes to show off. If we start off too aggressively, with hiding and booking it to the exit. We'll make him get serious."

"Then he'll crush us in a second. Right." As they make their way down Main Street. Danger senses flares at full force. "Kacchan! Huge attack down the middle!"

Bakugo jumps forward and puts out his right arm. Pulling the pin from his gauntlet. The stored-up sweat from earlier exercise allowing him to have a blast already prepared at the start of the exam.

"I can match it just fine!" His explosion clashes with the Smash Wally sent at them, and the two attacks meet in a fiery collision. As the dust settles. Wally walks through it laughing.
