Episode 13: Complicated Aftermath

Izuku Pov:

It was the next day. And three of us were resting in our hospital room. Wrapped in bandages, Iida had his arms in slings. I also had a sling for my right arm for now. I had only woken up like 30 minutes ago and was getting caught up on events. As I look at all of our injuries, I can't help but sigh in relief. Iida looks over to me with a smile of admiration.

"It was very impressive for you to be able to go at him one-on-one until Todoroki and I made it back."

"To anyone watching it might have looked like a heated battle, but the only reason I'm alive is because he didn't want to kill me. Look at all these injuries on me. If he wanted me dead, he had multiple chances. That last stab wound could've been in my neck, but he went for my shoulder."

Todoroki nods in agreement as he lightly touches the bandages on his side.

"No doubt about it. We were severely outclassed. Still, we prevailed. That was impressive for you to face that bloodlust and still be able to fight with Midoriya."

"Same for you and Iida. I came to rescue him, but ended up needing his help in the end." I chuckle after saying it, but Iida looks down, a bit saddened.

"No, I-

"Looks like the hurt lockers are all already awake."

"Gran Torino."

"Manual."

"You guys have a visitor, the Chief of Hosu Police Precinct. Tsuragamae Kenji." All of us shoot up as he walks in, but he waves us to relax. And also, he is a dog. Like literally a dog head on a human body.

"Please remain seated, I know you've had it quite ruff."

Ruff?

"So you guys are the ones who bested the Hero Killer. All students of UA. The Hero Killer is currently being treated for a plethora of injuries. Burns, contusions, bone fractures, and somehow even more. You all really did a number on him."

He sighs and looks at all of us.

"The usage of quirks by those without a hero license is a criminal offense. Considered vigilantism. And heavily punishable. I had wanted Endeavor to take the credit for the victory to spare you all the consequences. But unfortunately. This has been going around."

The chief pulls out his phone and plays the video of my standoff against Stain. His speech of ideals and fake heroes. My clash and 1v1 against him, and then Todoroki and Iida joining and us defeating him.

"This video and many like it have been circling around the internet. We've been trying to pull it down, but they continue to find their way back up. With this, we can't really deny all of your involvement in the battle. Or should I say victory in it? So that means the consequences would be unavoidable. For the three of you and your mentors."

"Hold on, sir." Todoroki interjects. "If Iida didn't show up, then Native would've died. And if Midoriya didn't, they both would've died. No one knew of the Hero Killers' arrival yet. Should we have followed the rules and let them die?"

"So are you trying to say it's ok to break the law if everything turns out ok in the end?"

"Saving people is what Heroes do. It's their job. And will be ours."

"Good grief. I should've expected this much fire from a UA student and the son of Endeavor."

"You damn mut!" Todoroki begins to walk forward as I get in front of him.

"T-Todoroki, wait."

"Hear the rest of what he has to say." Gran Torino cuts in. And we all turn our attention back to the chief.
