That morning the whole family was in the kitchen getting ready for the day.
"Okay, Michelle, here is a handy hint. If you put masking tape around you hand.. sticky side out it useful for removing that unsightly lint from jacket or sweater." Danny wrapped the masking tape around his hand and put it on his sweater.
"There's something every toddler should know." Jesse sarcastically commented.
"Okay, I made a list of food for Kimmy's surprise birthday party. Grape soda, orange soda, caramel corn cherry licorice and ice-cream." DJ listed.
"Why shop? Just put out a bowl of white sugar." Joey told DJ.
"Lexi, are you still coming to Kimmy's party?" DJ inquired to the girl who was eating her cereal.
"Ugh, do I have too." Lexi groaned.
"Pleaseeee, you're the most popular 6th grader and I told everyone you were gonna be there." DJ begged.
"Fine." Lexi sighed and continued eating.
The telephone then rang "I'll get it." Danny gets up and answers the phone "Hello." Danny picked up the receiver "Okay. I'll be right there. Bye-bye." Danny hung up the phone but it was stuck to his hand from the masking tape, he finally got it down and collected himself "That was my boss. He wants me down at the station right away. He says he's got some good news. Actually, he said big news. Ooh, that could be bad news. Why didn't he say? Why didn't I ask him? I'll worry on the way." Danny then kissed the three girls goodbye and left.
"Why does he make himself so crazy?" Joey shrugged.
"I don't know. But on the plus side there is no lint on the phone." Jesse examined.
The door suddenly swung open and in came Maya "Lexi! Lexi! Lexi!" Maya squealed.
"What! What! What!" Lexi matched her energy with sarcasm.
"Haven't you ever heard of knocking." Jesse took his hands from off his ears.
"The door was unlocked so I came in. Cool it Jesse." Maya rolled her eyes and Jesse glared at her.
"Anyway, Lexi! Noah outside he said he wants to walk to school with you!" Maya exclaimed.
"Seriously!" Lexi dropped her spoon.
This caught Jesse attention when the mention of boy came up.
"Come on, let's go!" Maya grabbed her hand.
"Girls!" Jesse called and the two came back into the kitchen "Aren't you forgetting something?" Jesse leaned down.
"Oh, yeah. My backpack." Lexi grabbed her backpack and saw her dad give her a look "I'm just messing with you." Lexi gave her dad a kiss on the cheek and left with Maya.

That night Lexi had to go to Kimmy's birthday party but she decided to sleep over Mayas house instead but she had to break the news to DJ.
