Lexi stood there almost speechless "Mom..?" Lexi muttered and her mother smiled softly as she crouched down.

"Hi, baby, happy birthday!" She acted all sweet and gave her a hug but Lexi still felt stuck, not knowing what to do.

Jesse came in when he had heard her voice "Chloe what the hell are you doing here? Get off her." Jesse pulled Lexi away.

"What? Can't I hug my own daughter?" Chloe shrugged with smirk.

"Where has been my hug been in the last 12 years?" Lexi furrowed her eyebrows.

"Oh, come on. Don't be silly Lexi." Chloe booped her nose and Lexi pushed her hand away.

"No, you don't just get to show up 12 years later and expect me to welcome you with open arms." Lexi was mad now, the people in the back were all shocked at the scene playing out.

Danny came in and tried to get the kids out "Um, kids, party's over." Danny opened the door for them to leave.

"Chloe, you need to go." Jesse glared at her.

"I'm not leaving, she's my daughter and I want to spend time with her." Chloe smiled down at her.

"You're not gonna ruin her birthday, she obviously doesn't wanna see you." Jesse was also getting angry.

"She doesn't know what she's talking about. Come on Lexi." Chloe grabbed her arm but she pulled away.

"No! I don't wanna see you, my dads been doing a great job taking care of me, unlike you. You left when we needed you the most, when I needed you the most." Lexi felt tears well up in her eyes.

"I'm here now and I wanna make up for lost time." Chloe speaks sweetly.

"I don't even know if I can even call you mom, because the only thing you have ever done for me is mess things up!" Lexi yelled.

"That is no way to speak to me. Jesse do something." Chloe looked up at him.

"No, she's right. You've never been there and you can't just come back and expect everything to be okay." Jesse held Lexi's close.

"Well, she's still my daughter and I will take her back." Chloe explained.

"I won't let the happen, nor will Danny or Joey." Jesse gestured back to the kitchen.

Chloe scoffed folding her arms "You're still living with those asses." Chloe rolled her eyes.

"Hey! Don't talk about my family like that." Lexi stared at her mother hard.

"I'll say whatever I want, you brat." Chloe spat in her face.

"What do you even want Chloe?" Jesse asked.

"Well, I was trying I visit my-"

"Oh cut the bull shit, why are you really here." Lexi leaned in wanting to hear her response.

Chloe sighed "Fine. I need money, I just got laid off and I need money, there happy?" Chloe opened her arms.

"Wow, so you didn't even wanna visit me on my birthday, you just need money for alcohol?" Lexi felt a tear run down her cheek.

"Shut up. I don't even know why I asked you two, I knew you'd react this way. I can't believe I ever gave birth to a self entitled brat like you." Chloe said in her face and Lexi ran away sobbing.

"Look what you did. Thanks a lot Chloe, now please go away." Jesse shut the door and went to go comfort Lexi.

Lexi sat in her bed with her head buried in her knees as she cried softly. This was such a slap in the face, her mom came back just to leave again.

Lexi heard a soft knock on her door then someone sit on her bed. Jesse put his arm around her kissing her forehead.

"I'm so sorry, honey." Jesse stroked her hair and she looked up with puffy eyes.

"It's not fair, she shows up 12 years later and just for money?" Lexi sobbed softly and Jesse held her in close.

"Your mother.. only wants to bring other people down. I'm sorry, I didn't know she was gonna show up." Jesse felt awful for the girl.

"This is the worst birthday ever.." Lexi sniffled laying her head down on Jesse's lap.

"You're right, she ruined your birthday and that's not fair. I promise I won't let her show up ever again. I'm so sorry sweetie this is all my fault." Jesse ran his hands through his hair.

"No it's not, it's her fault." Lexi lifted her head wiping away her tears "She was the one that left. You stayed by me even though you could've given me up." Lexi held his hand.

"And you're the best daughter in the world. You don't need her." Jesse smiled softly.

"You're right, all I need.. is you." Lexi returned a smile.

"I love you, Lex." Jesse patted her hand.

"I love you too, dad." Lexi gave him a big hug and they both smiled.

After Lexi had cleaned up the party, she took a shower and was in her room with a robe as she looked for comfy clothes. Just then there was light tap on the window.

Lexi turned around and saw Noah, she sighed and opened the window "Noah, the party's over." Lexi groaned and was about to close the window.

"Wait, wait, wait. Lexi. Please let me in." Noah begged and Lexi rolled her eyes and let him in.

"What? And make it quick." Lexi folded her arms.

"Lexi, I can't stop thinking about you and I'm so sorry about what happened with your mom and everything." Noah mumbled rubbing the back of his neck.

"Thank you, but why'd you come over here to just say that?" Lexi questioned.

"Alexis, I'm really sorry about all the things I said. I was being a stupid teenage boy, I did love you in elementary school and to be honest I always have. Every moment I spend with you is always the best. You're smart, you're pretty, you're funny, you're caring, and sweet. I honestly don't think there's a day that's gone by where I haven't thought about you." Noah stepped closer to her grabbing her hand "Lexi.. you mean so much to me. And I'm stupid and dumb for letting you go and saying all those shitty things. Dating Lucy was a stupid decision, because.. I like you, and only you and I don't think I can ever stop. I want to be with you, I wanna care for you, and.. I know deep down.. you like me too."

"Noah, that's so sweet. And... I really do want that but what if things don't work out? I mean you're my best friend and I don't wanna lose you." Lexi sighed.

"You're not gonna lose me. I promise." Noah assured.

"You don't know that, I mean what if-" Lexi was cut off by Noah pressing his lips against hers. The kiss felt soft and easy, Lexi kissed him back as his hands ran through her hair. It felt like fireworks, as he pulled away Lexi stared deep into his eyes "I-I don't know what to say."

"I do. Lexi, I know we're only 13 but I like you, so much and I wanna be with you. I wanna do all that cheesy romantic stuff. I wanna be with you and let the whole world know. So please." Noah stared deep into her eyes as well.

"I wanna be with you too." Lexi laughed and the two kissed again.

This was only the beginning..
