Lexi was in her room getting ready for her first day of Jr high. She had picked out the perfect outfit and woke up extra early to do her hair, this day would make or break her whole reputation. She may have been popular in 6th grade but 7th was a pretty big deal.
Lexi was making some final touches on her hair. She sprayed her hair with some hairspray and put in some new earrings.
She walked into DJs room and saw Stephanie and her spraying hairspray all over her as well.
"Hey, Deej, you ready?" Lexi put down her backpack and DJ turned to Lexi then back at her mirror.
"Perfect." DJ nodded and headed over to her mini table "Finally, I'm going school that doesn't have a sandbox." DJ sighed in relief.
"Hallelujah. We practically teenagers." Lexi squealed with a bright smile and so did DJ.
"How can you both be so happy? This is the first time we all won't be at the same school." Stephanie noted "aren't you guys gonna miss me like crazy?" Stephanie questioned and the two girls made eye contact.
"Stephanie, try to understand. You are a child. Lexi and I are young adults. And starting today, we live in different worlds." DJ put her hairspray in her back pack.
"We don't even live in different rooms." Stephanie mentioned.
"Please, don't remind me." DJ sighed.
"Hopefully Uncle Danny will come around." Lexi bit the inside of her mouth.
"Come on, Deej, Lex. Stay at my school." Stephanie put her arm around DJ "I need my big sister and cousin to stick up for me. What if some kid calls me a...lameoid zombie dog?" Stephanie came up with on the spot.
"I don't know, bite 'em." Lexi shrugged and grabbed DJs hand pulling her up from her chair.
"Look, I didn't have a big sister to stick up for me and I did fine. And so will you." DJ assured her.
"DJ's right, you don't need us. You're just fine on your own." Lexi patted her shoulder.
"But when I get to junior high, you two will be in high school. When I get to high school, you'll be in college. When I get to college.. you'll both be working at McDonald's." Stephanie sarcastically smiled.
"Oh, how sweet." Lexi put a hand over her heart.
