Lexi laid on her bed eating a box of cookies and reading a magazine. She was completely zoned out until her door swung open.
Lexi snapped her head up and took a bite of her cookie. It was Maya. "Maya? What are you-"
"I have amazing news!" Maya yelled and shut the door. She then jumped onto her bed handing her an envelope.
Lexi dropped her magazine and opened the envelope.
'You're invited to Nancy Reagans pool party! Please come wearing a swimsuit. Party will take place on November 13th at 5:30 pm.'

"No way, Nancy Reagan invited us to her party." Lexi jaw almost touched the floor. "Also, why is she having a pool party in November?"
"She has an indoor pool!" Maya squealed. "But this is you're perfect chance to get over Noah! Maybe talk to some boys.. I heard Tony G is gonna be there." Maya nudged her.
Lexi looked down at the envelope and sighed, "I guess." Lexi shrugged.
"Great! We can go bathing suit shopping Friday." Maya declared. "This party is gonna be so fun!"
"Yeah fun for you because you have the perfect body." Lexi got off her bed. Lexi was always insecure about her body, ever since she was kid.
One time, her and her dad were at the store and someone asked him why she had so much baby fat. That stuck with Lexi forever..
"Well.. can't argue with that." Maya smiled, and admired her figure.
"There's no way I'm going to this party until I look like one of these models." Lexi held up a magazine with a girl in a bikini who had a flawless body.
"Come on, Lex." Maya made her way over to Lexi. She put her hands on her shoulders. "You're my best friend and I'm gonna look like a dork if I go alone." Maya leaned her head on her shoulder.
"Fine." Lexi turned around and hugged her best friend. "But that means I only have two weeks to get skinny." Lexi confirmed. "That means.." Lexi's eyes landed on the cookies on her bed. "No cookies." She threw the cookies in the trash next to her door.
"I'm proud of you, Lex. But just remember don't go crazy. I don't want you to hurt yourself." Maya bit her lip.
"Uh-huh, sure." Lexi nodded, still staring at the magazine for reference.
"Okay, love you." Maya grinned as she was about to leave.
