Y/N woke up, the next day, in his own bed. He looked around his room, seeing nothing out of the ordinary. "Hey." A voice called from beside him. He turned slowly to see who it was. Kiara was sat there, holding his hand, rubbing her thumb over his furred knuckles.

"Hi." He responded. "You remember what happened?" She asked him. He nodded. "Topper pushed me and John B off the Hawk's nest. Then I put him on top of me and we hit the ground. I thought it'd protect him, but he got hurt anyway." He told her. She squeezed his hand. "You did protect him. The doctor said he only got a concussion, but it could have been a lot worse if he hadn't landed on you." So told him.

This lifted his worries slightly, but forced another question as well. "Wait, why am I at home then?" Kie looked down after he asked this. She was livid at how the hospital had handled the situation. "Uhm. They wouldn't treat you." Y/N let out a sigh at this. "I'm sorry, we tried to talk them into it but the doctor didn't want to go near you."

He looked down. "I really wish I could say I was surprised." He said, honestly. "This isn't right, Y/N. I mean this is just blatant racism from them. You need to fight this." She told him. He looked her in the eyes. "Kie, this is just how it is, we'll always be seen as either threats, or freaks. Nothing we say or do will change that."

She squeezed his hand in support. He tried to get up but Kie pushed him down. "Woah, hey, what're you doing?" She asked him, concerned. "Look my powers allow me to heal faster. I'm not in a lot of pain anymore." He told her, but let himself be pushed down.

"Still, you just woke up. Just wait a while, ok? Look Beca and your mom are outside making breakfast, at least eat something before you get up." She reasoned with him. He let out a sigh. "Ok."

He looked over at her and smiled. He nodded his head to the side, asking her to get onto the bed with him. She smiled before standing up and joining him on the bed. He lifted an arm, and put it around her, as she cuddled into him. "I'm not hurting you, am I?" She asked him. He shook her head at her. "You never could." He told her reassuringly. She looked up at him, and the two leaned in, sharing a kiss.

Y/N, Kiara and Beca had left not long after breakfast, Kie had to work, so the group agreed to meet at The Wreck. JJ and Pope had both greeted
Y/N, ecstatic to see him okay. John B showed up not long after. He saw Y/N and ran at him, before hugging him tightly.

"Thank you, Y/N. I don't know what would have happened if you weren't there. Thank you." John B said, gratefully. The two the split from the hug."Don't worry about it, man. I'll always be here to protect you guys. If I don't use this..." He gestured to himself. "to help people, then I don't deserve 'em." He said, honestly.

John B then explained his situation. "I'm sorry, you're staying where?" Kie asked him while tidying the restaurant. "Tannyhill". He responded. "So now you're living with her?" Beca followed up. John B put his head in his hand. "Ok, look, the only reason I'm living there is 'cause her dad bailed me out. And it's way better than foster care, which, by the way, was where I was about to go if Ward didn't-"

"Hey, so, like do you have a membership to the clubs now?" Pope cut him off. "I don't know." John B responded, annoyed. "What about those little golf carts that they ride around in, you get one of them?" JJ added. "You have a waiter who passes out smoothies with the little umbrellas?" Y/N asked.

"Look, you promised me, that you weren't with her." Beca asked, slightly hurt. John B looked at her, sorrowful. "Bro, just own it. She got you." JJ told him. "Look, if you wanna hang out with her, fine by me." Beca said, leaning back in her chair. "But I think I speak for both of us, when I say that we're not doing this if she's involved." She said, gesturing to Kie, who nodded in response.

"Do you guys see her here?" John B asked, rhetorically. "No. So a little focus would be fantastic. We got the map, right?" He asked. "Well it's all out of whack, 'cause the guy was ganja when he drew it." JJ told him. Kie looked up at him, dumbfounded. "It's 'cause the coast's changed." She told him, receiving a nod in response.

"So we just have to look for something that hasn't changed." Y/N said. "Yeah, so, landmarks, things like that." Pope followed up. John B thought of something. "What about the old forts?" He asked. Kie looked at the map, before seeing something.

"Battery Jasper."

The group had realised that they needed to find a stone wall, after making it to the fort. They then drove, with Pope directing me until they found said wall. "That looks like a stone wall to me." JJ called out from the back. "Oh no, not the Crain house." They exited the van.

"Are you kidding me."

"Fuck's sake."

"Worst case scenario."

"Why'd it have to be here, of all places." Pope complained "I heard Mrs. Crain buried her husband's head, on the property." JJ told them. Earning a look of fear, from everyone.

They began walking towards the house. All attempting to not get pricked by the plants on the way in. "Look, you guys know who's house this is, right?" Kie asked them. "Oh yeah. I do." "Look I don't really believe the stories about this place." John B announced. JJ shushed him.

He walked closer to Beca and Kie. "Which stories did you two hear?" He asked them. "The one where she brutally murdered her husband with an axe. She's been holed up ever since." Beca told him. "Certain nights, when the moon is full, you can see her in the window." She said ominously, moving her hands in a way to spook JJ, earning a laugh from Y/N

"No, Kie, it's not funny, 'cause it's all true." He said, turning back to the boys. "I swear to god it's all true, I knew Hollis." He then got scared by a statue, but his previous statement was worth questioning, which Pope did. "Whoa, dude, you knew Hollis Crain? How do you know Hollis Crain?" "She was my babysitter. She told me all about it. She told me the truth. About her mother, and what happened in this house." They all looked at the house.

"So, as a kid, she heard all theses stories about how her mother killed her father, and she was a murderer, and all. Hollis didn't believe it. Until that might." He finished, mysteriously. "What night?"
Y/N asked him. JJ looked up at him. "It all came back to her. When Hollis was six years old, she heard her parents arguing downstairs. So she goes downstairs to see her mom washing her hands in the sink. Full of blood." Pope's eyes go wide.

"Her mother just said that she 'cut her finger', the next morning she says her father and her split up. But then Hollis noticed something. Her mother going into the parlour, constantly. In and out, and in and out, with plastic bags. Days go by, and Hollis decides to use the outhouse. And while she's using it, she looks down, and there, in the outhouse, is her father's head, looking straight back at her." John B does not believe a word.

"God, you are so full of shit." He told him, annoyed. "Dude I swear to god!" He tried to defend himself. Pope believed him. "Did she call the police?" John B and Y/N had had enough of the story and walked by them. JJ grabbed John B's arm to stop him. "Dude, dude, you sure you two wanna do this? She's an ace murderer, man."

"No offence to her, but I think I can defend us." Y/N reasoned before moving forward. The others caught up after arguing further. John B stopped them. "So, here's the plan. We got to find the wheat near the water, like Denmark's letter said." Pope tried asking questions but John B didn't have answers. "Look, it just said 'look for water', ok?" He told them.

"That's the shittiest mystery clue ever."

Nobody could find any water, or anything that looked promising. "Hey, come on!" John B whisper shouted, catching their attention. "It's the only place we haven't looked." He clicked his flashlight on.

"Here we go."

Kind of a filler chapter, but I just wanted to get something out cos I'm trying to get these out as much as I can. Still hope you enjoyed!
Any criticism is welcome as well
