Chapter 11

"Why are we here Liam? You're leaving tonight. You should be with them." I said as we sat down on the ledge beside Manila Bay.

"Why were you crying?" Liam asked, looking concerned.

"I-its Iñigo he..I..."

"Did he hurt you? I swear to God I'll beat him up an-"

"No! Not at all. Its just that I was watching you guys then he kept on talking to me and i- I snapped at him. Which NEVER happens. I want him back, Liam." I muttered as I looked down at the water.

"Stop crying... If you cry, I'll cry" Liam said as he scooted near me and rested my head on his shoulder.

"Why are you so nice to me all of a sudden?" I laughed halfheartedly. "I still hate you, really. Its just that I'll miss you" Liam said. "I'll miss you too and the boys of course"

"I miss Iñigo..." I added. "Forget about him tonight. It's you and me, okay?" He smiled and took my hand in his as we started walking by the bay.

"But-"

"No buts. I want to spend the last 3 hours here with my favorite girl"

"Did you just call me your favorite girl?" I teased. "That just slipped don't get flattered Dianne." Liam said as his usual grumpy self came back again causing me to laugh.

"I'll miss your annoying self" Liam said out of the blue.

"I'll miss you too"

"You're gonna miss me by my hair... You're gonna miss me everywhere.." Liam sang. "Li don't" I said with a disappointed tone.

"Sorry na" Liam suddenly blurted out, causing me to stop and look at him.

"You seriously have to stop saying Tagalog words, Liam you sound weird" I said causing him to laugh.

We were walking in a comfortable silence, both just enjoying other's company. Trying to savor the last hours together.

"Di?"

"Yes?"

"What are you and Iñigo?"

"You just told me to forget about him for tonight" I laughed. "Just answer" he replied, chuckling.

"We're friends. Why?" I asked as we both stopped to face each other fully.

"Really? Are you friends or are you more?" Liam cocked his head to the left.

"Just friends."

"Well, you don't act like it... And I don't like it. Just saying. Okay that was stupid. Forget I ever said that" Liam said with a hard tone. Who was he to tell me? Um.

I decided to leave the awkward conversation and ask him about that... Soon.

"Liam! 2 hours before your flight what are you doing?!" I exclaimed as I checked the time on my phone. "Spending time with my girl!"

"Your girl?"

"Yes, my girl. Live with it" Liam said stubbornly making me laugh at his cuteness.

Liam got his phone out and called their driver to come pick us up.

"We'll pass by your house before going to the airport, dont worry" Liam said, making me relieved on how I was going to go home. I nodded.

The car arrived 10 minutes later and we both got in. I gave the directions to my house and we all sat on silence.

Liam was still holding my hand.

"Dianne? What are we?" Liam asked and my face got filled with confusion.

"No! I don't mean it that way he he. I meant, are we bestfriends or friends or" Liam asked, slightly blushing.

"I don't think we're friends or best friends. I think we're-"

"More?" Liam asked with a playful smile. "More. Exactly. More is what we are" I smiled.

"I hate to admit this but I'll miss you, more" Liam said, making me laugh at the word more. "Really? Not just my annoying self?" I teased. "Nope. I'll miss all of you Dianne" Liam sighed.

"I'll miss you too lima bean" I teased and his face scrunched up at the nickname.

We were both in silence again when Liam opened up a conversation about Iñigo... Again.

"Dianne. I'm scared." Liam confessed. "Of what?" I asked.

"Every time Iñigo looks at you... I see pure adoration.. Love." Liam muttered. And?

"Oh.. Why are you scared though?" I asked.

"This girl is so numb I swear to god" I heard Liam whisper more to himself. "Nothing let's just drop it" Liam smiled and on cue, the car came to a stop.

"I'm home..." I muttered sadly, looking down at the ground.

We both got out of the car and faced each other on the porch.

I didn't care if it was midnight. All that mattered right now is that my ball of sunshine is leaving soon. Bringing me back to reality.

"This isn't goodbye, Dianne. I promise." Liam smiled.

"Don't promise things you can't keep, Liam please" I looked down and the tears fell again. Liam shook his head and tilted my head to face him.

"We'll see each other again. If it's meant to be, it will be." Liam smiled and I nodded.

Our eyes trained on each other, our heads slowly coming closer like magnets.

No. I'm not supposed to fall for this man. This wasn't my plan.

I closed my eyes, scared and excited when I felt a pair of lips on my forehead instead.

"Goodbye Dianne."
