"then mama? Don't leave us hanging!" Dianne's 3-year-daughter, Lianne, said as she kneeled up closer to her mother.

"Yeah! What happened after, mom? Did you see each other again?" Dianne's other 4-year-old daughter, Regina (or Reg, as her father would usually call her), said after her younger sister.

Dianne laughed as she brought both of her daughters closer to her seat on the sofa.

"No, we never saw each other again... But he.." Dianne said and the two girls were about to reply but their father walked into the room.

"Daddy!" The girls shrieked as they ran to their father which instantly caught them in his arms.

"Iñigo, what took you so long? I was starting to get worried." Dianne said as she stood up to kiss her husband on the cheek. Iñigo smiled at his wife.

"Traffic because of the waterworks, as usual. But what kept you girls occupied, huh? Was mommy telling you a story?" Iñigo kissed his daughters and they giggled.

"Yes! Mama was telling us the story of her life! With L... Luke? Lucio?" Reg tried to remember the name of the boy that first stole her mom's heart.

"Liam!" Lianne exclaimed and her dad nodded. "I'm telling them about that story" Dianne winked and Iñigo laughed and nodded.

"Mama said that Liam is famous! Why don't I know him?" Reg asked. "No ate, he famous before! In mama time" Lianne explained to her older sister.

"And he's older now, like mama is. So people nowadays probably don't recognize him that much anymore" Dianne explained.

"A looot of things happened back then, but I'm happy everything happened because you know what?" Iñigo said as he sat his two girls down on the sofa with Dianne seated on the other side.

"If those things never happened, you two would never be here. You are my little sunshines you know that?" Iñigo said to his two girls and they smiled and nodded. "And your mother, she's the sun. The sun of my life. I don't know where I'd be without her." Iñigo said and Dianne smiled but shook her head.

"No, Iñigo. I don't know where I'd be without you. If you didn't stay with me after everything that happened.. I'm happy you never gave up on me even though I was blind and stubborn." Dianne said sincerely as she stroked her little girls' hair.

"And you know what, sunshines? .... Liam was my first love, but your dad was the one who gave me the meaning of what true love is." Dianne adds.

The family was having a moment but of course, that had to be broken.

"Mommy! What the three words on journal?" Little Lianne asked. Dianne looked to Iñigo before opening her mouth and,

Ding dong

"Huh? We have company? At this hour of the night?" Iñigo looked at his watch and shook his head. The family went downstairs to the living room and waited as Iñigo opened the door.

"Iñigo, nice to see you again" Liam said as he stood there, on their porch with his wife and one little girl in her arms.

"Liam? What- how-" Dianne was at a loss for words. "I said we'll see each other again, right? Here I am. I have company, though." Liam said pointing to his wife and daughter.

"Come in! Come in! It's freezing outside. Here, let me take your coat. You can sit anywhere you want" Iñigo said, still dazed. "This is my wife, Daniela. And my little girl, Jane." Liam said as Jane went down from her mother's arms and shyly stood behind Liam. Daniela kindly smiled and warmly shook their hands.

"Can we talk? I mean, we're all families here. I'm sure we can all be open with whatever there is to talk about." Liam said and they nodded. They all sat around the dining table, leaving Jane behind with Reg and Lianne.

"Hi." Reg smiled at Jane and she just waved shyly while twirling her red hair which she inherited from her mother.

"Hello, Jane. Don't be shy. We're nice friends!" Lianne sat beside Jane and she just his her face. Reg and Lianne looked at each other, clearly confused on how to make her open up to them.

"Hey Jane! You like play? Let's play! In the room!" Lianne said and Jane nodded. She took Jane's hand and the three ran upstairs.

"So, Jane, Did you know that Liam used to be with my mommy?" Reg said and Jane shook her head. "Really? How? I didn't know that." Jane said and they shrugged.

"Wait! Three words! Ate!" Lianne reminded her sister and her eyes brightened. The three then quietly went to Dianne and Iñigo's bedroom to see what the three words were.

Downstairs, the four were laughing and talking.

Liam then politely excused himself if he can talk to Dianne in private. Iñigo looked uncertain for a moment but nodded and gave his full trust to the two.

Upstairs, the three girls found the journal and read the three words on the last page of the journal:

"I'll be back"

Liam and Dianne walked to the backyard where only the two of then would hear whatever they were going to talk about.

"So you're back... Years later" Dianne laughed with a slight of hurt in her voice. "Yes I'm back. I'm sorry Dianne, I wish you knew how hard it was to escape and I sadly couldn't do that." Liam explained.

"No it's okay, really. I'm just sad because... I waited, Liam. I expected that you'd come back for me. It took me a long time before realizing that you weren't coming back." Dianne said. "It's a good thing Iñigo was there for me." Dianne continued. "I know he was going to be there for you. I talked to him about it." Liam explained and Dianne nodded. "I know. He told me" and there was silence.

"Are you still mad at me?" Liam asked. "No, I was never mad. I got over it, don't worry. I'm just suddenly upset when I saw you. I'm sorry, I don't know why. I guess its because I was waiting for you before and you only came now" Dianne laughed.

"At least I fulfilled my promise in that journal of mine" Liam said. "Yeah. Good thing you did." Dianne said.

"No hard feelings?" Liam asked.

"No hard feelings." Dianne answered and a friendly hug was shared.

"I missed you." Liam said honestly and Dianne said the same. They then headed back inside before wiping their tears and joining the two on the table, now with the little girls.

"Regina and Lianne are beautiful." Daniela said sincerely as she picked Lianne up and booped her nose. She laughed.

"Jane really has Liam's eyes and Daniela's hair. It's amazing" Dianne smiled. Iñigo sat closer to Dianne and put his arm around her.

"So, the best friends end up together. Hearing your story, I was really expecting you'd end up with Liam over here." Daniela laughed.

"I thought we'd end up together too." Liam laughed along.

"I thought I'd end up with no one." Iñigo said and the room was filled with laughs.

"Everything went out perfectly, to be honest. But not the way we thought everything would turn out." Liam said.

"Well, nobody was expecting this plot twist." Dianne laughed.
