Leila
"C'mon baby, I promise she meant nothing to me."
I rolled my eyes as I listened to my ex boyfriend, Marcus go on and on in my ear about how he didn't mean to stick his dick in another bitch the night of my birthday. We've been broken up for two months and he still manages to call me from different numbers. "Oh, for real? It just makes it all better now since you promised." I said sarcastically into the phone.
"Ughhh. Damn, Lei. What I gotta do to make things right between us?" Is he for real?
"Try leaving me the fuck alone, Marcus. I've given you chances on top of chances and you consistently do dumb shit, so I'm done. Go find a new bitch to fuck over. Preferably, the one you was dropping dick off to instead." Click. Blocked.
It's such a beautiful day out and I refuse to let my brain cells be tarnished by a man who can't even last more than three minutes ruin it. I decided to walk my baby through Central Park that way we both get a fresh sense of the autumn scenery. Its been a while since I've gone out to explore the city. I'm constantly working between the art studio and the club, so why not take advantage of this day off.
ROOF! ROOF! ROOF!
"Coffee? What's wrong mommy?" I bent down to check on my chunky mamas. "You don't usually bark this much."
ROOF! She takes off running. Good thing I got my crocs in sport mode.
I shout "Coffee!" Shes doing way too much, got me out here chasing her in the middle of the park, embarrassing me in front of all these white people. Next thing I know, she's tackling some stranger to the ground. "Girl, what the fuck are you doing?" I yell throwing my hands to my head. I'm already in debt. Please don't add a lawsuit to the list. I'm surprised his dog didn't react. He's just sitting there watching the show. Huh. That's odd.
I ran to the man, getting ready to apologize but surprisingly he's rubbing my dog and smiling ear to ear like he knows my child? "Is that you mamas? You got so big!" Ummmm sir?
"I'm sorry. How do you know my baby?" I ask looking down at him. Damn he's fine. His chiseled jaw structure can cut a bitch off real quick.
He slowly stands to his feet, towering over my small stature. He doesn't say anything yet gazes a hole through my head. Oh my. Intense are we? The deep voiced man softly says, "I know little Scarface when I see her."
Wow. I haven't heard that name in seven years. "That's so crazy. I had this boyfriend from way back that used to call her Scarface, because she had a little-."
"Slash going down her eye when she was a puppy," the stranger finished.
"Yeah," I whisper. "How'd you know?" He doesn't take his eyes off me. Familiar feelings running back when I noticed the same cross tattoo that covers the mark on his neck from when his biological dad cut him when he was just nine years old. I feel my heart racing and tears getting ready to form. Anxiety? How are you, bitch? It's been a while.
