Leila

Around 8am, I met up with the girls on the terrace to join them for breakfast. Memories of the conversations I had with Damian last night repeatedly plays in my head like a broken record. One in particular still makes my blood boil, but I'm not gonna let that interfere with my time here in Italy. I'll handle it later.

"I hope you and Domenico got all y'all energy out last night, cause come tonight... you gotta act up!" Nia asserted.

"Here she go." I said resulting in the rest of us to chuckle lightly.

"Y'all deadass right now? I know I'm not the only one that's hype for bachelorette night."

"Of course, I'm excited. I just don't know what I can or can not do." Imani shrugged her shoulders.

"What?? That's where the...helloooo, maid of honor, comes in. It's your last night as an official free woman. You gotta shake a little or something." Iesha, one of Imani's friends reminds her. "Lei, I'm sure you came up with something for her."

"Well, I was asked to be maid of honor last minute. Luckily, I did find a few things. Thanks to a friend of a friend."

"I'm sure she means you know who." Arianna whispered and giggles.

"Bitch, you in my business?"

"Speaking of, someone wasn't in their room last night. Perhaps, she was somewhere she wasn't supposed to be?" Nia hints to me.

I rolled my eyes. "What? A girl can't explore a little around the city?"

"Bitch! Don't even try it. You wasn't exploring no city, you was exploring some dick."

"Nia! We're in a whole different country. Can you at least act like a lady for once?" Imani declared.

"Who she talkin' to? Honey, just because it's a different country, doesn't mean I'm gonna change who I am. Now, back to you, boo. So are you and Damian like back tog-." This is getting annoying. Damian and I just decided to take things slow and I'm not in the mood to be bombarded with a bunch of intrusive questions.

"Can we not talk about me on this trip? This is about Imani. Whatever question you or anyone else has, we can talk about it when we get back to the states. Okay?" Even if they wanted to, it's still not their business.

"Well excuse me!" Nia shouted. "No need to be so adamant."

Later that day, we were able to pick up our dresses that Imani had sent to some bridal shop. I noticed she's been improving on her Italian. It's quite mandatory since she's gonna be married to a Romano real soon. I started learning through Damian at the age of fourteen then became completely fluent by the time I was eighteen. At first it was difficult, but he took his time with me. That's another pro I can say about Damian. He has a lot of patience.

"You've been quiet." Imani says to me as we're all walking back to the hotel.

"Me?"

"Mhmm. What's going on?"

"Nothing. I'm just-."

"In your head? Is it about the last minute surprise or seeing him again?"

I shrug my shoulders.

"You can talk to me, Lei. I know it's a lot to take in."

"There's not much to say you know. I mean, I figured he would be here. At some point we were gonna have to address each other." I'm not tryna give away too much information until everything's all figured out between Damian and I. "He does look really fuckin' good though."
