Alex opened Anthony's bedroom door and hurried inside.

"What happened?" Asked Anthony.

"You told me she was safe! You told me everything would be fine! Anthony, what the hell?! Who even are they?!" Alex said it faster than he meant to and all the words ran together, but Anthony still seemed to completely understand what he said.

"They are safe, they're my friends!"

"No! They aren't safe! I don't want you talking to them again!"

"You can't make me just stop talking to my friends, you aren't dad!"

"You're right, I'm not an alcoholic freak who abandoned his family to get bitches. I'd like to think I'm better than that. Better enough that I care about you and want to keep you safe which is why I'm telling you to stay away from those people!"

"Whether it was to get bitches or not, you abandoned your family! You abandoned us! You put us in this stupid fucking place for your own good!"

"Anthony! First of all, that doesn't even start to be true-"

"No! Stop lying to yourself! You put us here-"

"Would you rather be home? Because it's not much better there!"

Anthony was absolutely fuming, but he couldn't answer Alex's question. Alex knew he wouldn't be able to because their home was no better than this place. Their dad left, their mom was almost never home but when she was she was drunk, their cousin came by a lot and that was never....fun, Alex was pretty sure he had a stalker now, and he was being extremely underpaid and rent was due on top of all of that.

All in all, their home couldn't even be considered a home at this point.

"Goodbye." Alex said flatly, and left.

He hated talking to Anthony at this point. He loved him, but it was impossible to talk to him.

Amy, however, was always different.

Alex often wondered if Amy had a personality disorder; one day she's be overly excited and happy and hugging you and jumping up and down, but the next she'd be screaming and throwing stuff at you and trying to hurt you. He never knew if it was gonna be one or the other.

He tapped on her door and opened after a second and she quickly looked up and smiled.

"Alex!" She shouted, running over and hugging him.

"Hello Amy." He said, smiling at her and shutting the door. "How are you doing? I'm sorry I missed yesterday, I had a little too much to do."

"That's okay! And I'm great! I made another friend yesterday, her name is Leanne! How are you doing? Are you getting enough money to pay rent?"

"Nope. I'm really hoping to scrape up enough by Saturday, because if I don't I'm losing the house and I don't know what to do if we lose the house. But all that aside, I'm glad you're doing alright! So is Leanne nice?"

"So nice! She's the sweetest person ever!"

"Good!"

Alex and Amy sat together talking for a long time. Alex missed Amy so much. He wished she could come home and he wished Anthony could come home, even though he was a pain in the ass sometimes.

"I really wanna go home." Amy said suddenly. "Even though it's not the best back there, it's my home and I don't wanna leave it. How are you even handling everything by yourself? Do you not get any help?"

"Sometimes Caroline comes over. She's always happy to help out any way she can."

"Yeah, sometimes." Amy genuinely seemed concerned.

Well, she's growing up. Thought Alex. She's starting to pay attention to things like this.

"Don't worry about it, Amy. I've got everything under control."

"Does Sammy still go by? I miss him so much."

Sammy was their cousin. Alex never understood why Amy loved him so much. He was in no way a kind soul.

"Yeah, he comes by a lot. He misses you too and says he might try to visit sometime." This was a complete lie.

"I hope he does!" Exclaimed Amy, already excited.

Alex went home shortly after and never stopped feeling like he was being watched.

A/N: Again, I'm sorry if it's cringe. I'm trying my absolute best here. Is anyone even actually reading this? I think everyone just reads fanfics on wattpad lol. Anyway, the usual, have a good day/night, I love you sm!
