Chapter 18

Y/N is sitting on the couch with her legs crossed reading a book, she has been reading for awhile now. Later, she is on her stomach while her legs swing. She closes the book and stands up, walking around the small table in front before going back on the couch, reading it again. Y/N does that as a breather whenever her heart can't take some part of the story and it has been like that for about ten minutes after she started reading.

Selena stops from walking and looks at her, “What are you doing?”

“Nothing.”, Y/N says before sitting back down, start reading again. Selena snorts, shaking her head and going back to the bedroom.

A few minutes later, while Y/N is still in her book, her phone rings. She sighs, marking the page before standing up to get her phone that she left on the kitchen counter.

She sees the caller I.D., then answers it, “Hello.”

‘Hey, Y/N. Is Sel with you?’, Raquelle asks.

“Yeah, why?”, she says, putting her phone on speaker and placing it on the counter. She walks to the fridge to get water since her throat feels dry.

‘She has an appointment today for her chemo, and I can't go with her today because my mom called.’, Raquelle says not diving into details. ‘Are you, by any chance, free today? Can you go with her?’

After drinking the water, she turns off the speaker and puts the phone back on her ear.

“Of course!”, she says although she has a meeting with Mandy in the afternoon. However, she feels a sense of responsibility since it is Selena they are talking about, she'll ask to reschedule it.

‘Are you sure?’, Y/N can hear the sense of relief in Raquelle's voice.

“She's my girlfriend!”, she says in a 'duh' tone. “Do you have her schedule for chemo? Can you send it?”, Y/N asks.

‘I have but it changes a lot depending on how her body reacts to the drug. You can asks her doctor... Wait, I'll send it.’, Y/N phone's dings after a few seconds. She clicks it. It is a picture, a hand writing she cannot understand in some part. She'll look properly at it later.

“Thanks!”

‘No, thank you! I'll treat you sometime!’

Y/N laughs, “It's no problem.” After that, Raquelle has to go and they end the call.

Y/N zooms in the picture, trying to read it. She read it a few minutes after.

After that, she walks to the room, and hears a shower turns on. She sits on the bed while she waits.

A few minutes later, Selena comes out in a bathrobe, and with a towel wraps around her head. Y/N still has her focus on her phone and Selena gets her clothes. After that, Selena comes out wearing a sweat shirt and pants.

Selena grabs the hair dryer and dries her hair while looking at her self through the mirror.

She turns off the hair dryer, when she hears Y/N talking but doesn't understand it. “What?”, she asks turning around to face the younger brunette.

“Are you going for your chemo? Can I go with you?”, Y/N repeats. She still asked it even though Selena's friend asked her to.

“Are you sure? Don't you have a meeting later?”, Selena asks.

“I cancelled it.”, Y/N replies, petting Charlotte who decided to join her.

“You can't just do that!”

“I can. Plus, Raquelle asks me to since her mom called for something.”, Y/N says softly since she heard Selena's tone and doesn't want to turn this into a fight. She doesn't like that.
