The next day, around four o'clock in the morning, Y/N is awakened by her numbing arm. She groans, trying to move but a body is stopping her.
“Sel, get off. My arm!”, Selena hears it and rolls over to her side of the bed, her back is now facing Y/N.
“I'm sorry.”, she says groggily.
“It's okay.”, Y/N waits for a few minutes for numbness to be gone. She stands up and walks on Selena's side.
She gently taps the woman's shoulder, and Y/N gets a hum from her.
“Scoot over to the side.”, she says. Selena opens her eyes to see Y/N hovering her almost looking like a shadow because of the light coming from the moon through the window on her back.
“Honey, it's too early. What are you up to?”, Selena asks but does she was asked to, anyway.
“My right arm is numb, and I want a cuddle.”, Y/N says getting back under the duvet and not really up for explaining it.
“Okay.”, Selena says turning to the other side, falling back to sleep, not really understanding what Y/N is saying. But when she feels Y/N scoots closer, hugging her from behind with her numb arm around her waist, she gets it.
The next hours, Selena is awakened by loud cries coming from outside of the room.
“Y/N, your cat!”, Selena groans, shaking the younger woman awake.
Y/N reaches for her phone to check the time, eight-twenty in the morning. She gets off the bed and walks to the door to open it. Their alarm clock walks in, and her meows are not soft unlike when she was outside.
Charlotte jumps on the bed, laying down beside Selena. Y/N goes back, trying to sleep once again.
On the other hand, Selena is very much awake now. She is running her hand on the cat beside her. Selena turns to face her girlfriend, and she is back asleep again. She watches her for a few minutes and leaves a soft kiss on her forehead before she gets up, and makes their breakfast.
The cat follows right behind her. She feeds Charlotte first before making their breakfast.
A few minutes pass by before Y/N wakes up. Y/N smells the aroma coming from the kitchen, that makes her get off the bed. She goes to the bathroom first, to gargle and do bathroom business. After that she walks to the kitchen to see Selena rapping along Drake's song.
“That smells good.”, she says making her presence known to her girlfriend, doesn't want to startle her. She wraps her arms around Selena's waist, hugging her from behind.
“Thank you.”, Y/N leaves a few kisses on her shoulder.
“Good morning.”, Y/N greets.
“Good morning, sleepyhead.”, Selena turns around to give her a kiss, but Y/N dodge it.
“I haven't properly brushed my teeth.”, Selena rolls her eyes. “I don't care.”, the older woman hold Y/N's head with both her hands firmly, so she can't move before kissing her. Y/N sighs and kisses back, anyway.
“Now, take your seat, and watch me. This is almost done.”
“Yes, chef.”, Y/N says.
“Good.”, Y/N laughs, and watches her girlfriend do her thing.
After that, they stay in and watch a series on Netflix. They are cuddling on the couch, and Charlotte is on Selena's lap, sleeping.
A few minutes later, Y/N's phone starts ringing. Y/N looks at her phone to see a number calling her. She starts thinking who might that be. Selena reaches for the remote and pauses the movie.
“No, you can continue without. I'll just answer this.”, she says getting off the couch and going to the bedroom. Selena doesn't listen, and just scroll through her phone.
Y/N closes the door for privacy before answering it. The caller turns out to be agent of the apartment she wants to buy.
“Yes, this is Ms. L/N speaking. How can I assist you, John?”
“Thank you for taking my call, Ms. L/N. I wanted to discuss the status of your move-in plans for the apartment. We have received a significant amount of interest from other potential buyers, and I wanted to inquire if you have finalized your decision and when you anticipate moving in.”, the agent asks.
Y/N pinches the bridge of her nose. She forgot about that. She had been busy these days. “About that, I must admit, I'm still in the process of finalizing my decision. There have been some unforeseen circumstances that have caused a slight delay. I apologize for any inconvenience caused.”, she says with formalities since the caller started it.
“I understand that unexpected situations can arise, Ms. Johnson. However, I want to inform you that we have received multiple inquiries from other interested parties who are eager to make an offer. They are willing to move forward swiftly if given the opportunity. Is there a specific timeline by which you anticipate making your decision?”
She doesn't have a downpayment to secure that apartment for her. A lot of people have their interest in it, of course. Aside from architectural and interior design of it, it is in good location as well. Better than the other apartments she looked at. It is not in the city, but it has the full view of New York, and it is near the city, mall, city, hospital, etc.
Now, she is stressed out. She really wants that apartment.
“I'm actively working towards making a decision within the next week.”, she makes up. Actually, she already have a full decision that she will take it, however, she haven't do shopping for her things yet. For her, she couldn't just move in without her things.
After that, she asks for the bank details where she could transfer the downpayment, so she would secure it. And sends the details to Mandy.
Y/N doesn't know that she's been gone for too long and Selena is waiting for her.
Selena walks to the bedroom. Knocking first, and when she hears ‘come in’, she opens it.
“You've been gone for half-hour now–...”, Selena stops when she's Y/N in the front of her laptop doing something. She can tell that she is stress.
“What happened?”, she walks toward the younger woman. Selena kneels on the bed and starts to massage Y/N's tense shoulders. She doesn't lean down to pry what Y/N is doing... for privacy.
“I forgot about the apartment I am planning to move in. I haven't secured it, yet, and now people are interested on taking it. Oh God!”
“Relax. You will have it. But if not, I'm sure there's a lot more better than it.”, Selena says still massaging Y/N's shoulder.
“But I want it!”, the singer can hear the irritation from her voice.
“Okay, is there anything I can help?”, Selena asks softly.
Y/N closes her eyes before inhaling deeply and exhaling it, trying to calm herself. She is irritated and stressed out, and doesn't want to pin it to her girlfriend.
“Can you help me do shopping for my things?”, Y/N looks up. “I don't want to move my things from my old apartment. It stays there. So, whenever I want away, I won't have to also move things I need. Just me and Charlotte.”
Selena leans down to peck her lips, “Sure.”, she says. Y/N smiles, placing her hand on Selena's hand that is on her shoulder.
“Thank you, and I'm sorry, I forgot about the movie.”
“Don't worry about it. We can always continue.”, Selena offers a smile.
“I love you.”
“I love you more.”, Selena replies before sitting on the bed, behind her girlfriend.
They didn't go back to continue watching but laid down on the bed, cuddling until both of them fell asleep.
Charlotte walked in and laid down beside them.
