Y/N is watching over Gracie who is playing with Selena's dogs, while the others prepare the table and food for the new year celebration.
"Be careful!", Y/N shouts but the seven year-old girl stumbles when Daisy runs past her, bumping her body on Gracie's legs. Luckily for her she has her hand to support her body from meeting the ground. She was holding Winnie and Daisy is kind of jealous of the other dog. Winnie jumped off her arm when she stumbled.
"I'm okay!", Gracie says and gives a thumbs up for assurance. Y/N stifles a laugh and walks to the girl to check her hand.
"You sure?", Y/N asks, rubbing Gracie's red palm. She is a bit worried because Selena is protective of her sister and she doesn't know what her reaction would be about what happened.
"Yeah."
"Okay but if something hurts tell me.", Gracie nods against her abdomen. The little girl is hugging her with her face on her abdomen.
Since Y/N moved in with Selena, she and Gracie have been seeing each other around the house a lot. It came naturally; they reconnected, the bond they had before returned and became a new one.
They go back inside to help others in cooking, cleaning and other things that need to be done. The seven year-old helps for a while then flops down on the couch watching something on her tablet. Afte that, everyone go back to their rooms to have a nap, so that they will have enough energy to stay up until midnight.
Y/N is widely awake while the Latina is sleeping beside her with an arm draped on her stomach. She is watching a random movie. She muted it and put a subtitle, so the woman beside won't be disturbed.
She feels the Latina moves and snuggles closer to her but she ignores it and continues to watch.
"Take a nap.", Selena says in a sleepy tone when she sees that Y/N is wide awake and watching.
"I'm not feeling drowsy. I can't fall asleep.", the younger replies. Y/N was the last one who wakes up earlier that morning while everyone were already awake and started preparing; some went out to buy groceries needed, the guys went to buy fireworks, while the others left at the mansion and cleaned the house and cooked. Gracie was the one who shook her awake since according to the girl she's bored and no one wanted her help, and Y/N was the last and only option left.
“Just try. I want you wide awake later.”, Y/N turns off the television and moves on the top of the Latina.
Selena doesn't mind, and starts to rub Y/N's back, wanting to make the younger woman have her nap.
Y/N closes her eyes wanting to have a short nap and since her eyes is sore for a reason she doesn't know. It takes a while before she lost consciousness and Selena rubbing her back helps.
Y/N didn't know she fell asleep until Selena wakes her up. The Latina woke up finding her girlfriend wasn't on her top but beside her.
The Latina gently climbs on the bed. She leans down placing kisses on Y/N's face with her half-weight resting on her girlfriend's body, not caring if her dress gets wrinkled.
“Darling wake up.”, Y/N's eyebrows scrunch and she turns away, groaning.
Selena smiles and bury her face on her girlfriend's hair, inhaling the younger's scent; the shampoo and her sweat.
“Darling.”, she calls, slightly shaking the younger. Y/N hums in reply and ignores her girlfriend and continues sleeping.
The Latina gives Y/N another five minutes before she wakes her up again.
“Y/NN, come on!”, Selena groans slumping her body against Y/N. “It's almost eight.”, she says, pulling back
The younger woman stretches her body while yawning. She squints her eyes when she opens it due to the light coming from the bulb. She sees Selena looking down at her.
