(Y/N POV)

It's been a while after Xenophanes ended the life of that rabbit character, whatever her name was, and is now preparing the next group of characters with their levels, giving me some time this time to myself. Using this moment of peace, I begin to look back on my actions when that random teen played the game a few weeks ago. I know in truth only a few days have actually passed, but time still works differently here.

I didn't wish for some random person to die from accidentally playing the game, but the sensation of killing, the thrill that it creates. It's like winning a game, you enjoy the feeling, and wish to experience more of it. It both amazes and disgusts me. As I stand alone in the throne room, a bright purple light flashes from behind me, and I feel the presence of Xenophanes now, turning around to face him.

(Y/N): I see that you're here for something, is it perhaps something involving me? (sees something in his hand) Or does it involve what's in those claws of yours?

"It has to do with both, my little toy. (reveals a stray soul) I have collected the soul of that previous player to bring to our world. It may become boring for you if there's no other human to interact with, am I right?"

(Y/N): Well, it may be nice to speak to someone else that isn't you or deathly afraid of me.

"Hehehehahahaha... If that'll make you happy, then this soul shall be given a new body to host. You'll be in charge of creating a new body for this soul, and instruct them on what their new purpose in our world is. After that, I'll be needing you both for the final level for these two players"

(Y/N): I'll see what I can create. Anything you can use to give me some ideas?

"This particular soul seems to have the character of Shadow as his favourite"

(Y/N): Thanks for that information. I'll get working on it right away.

Xenophanes hands me the soul as he teleports off, leaving me with remaining life force of an innocent being, about to be placed in a new body for possibly all eternity. Creating a new vessel is difficult, according to him, saying that it requires a lot of energy to perform, but I'm not afraid of giving it a try. Now, let's see if I could possibly add something to this Shadow body...

(Isabelle POV)

Me and Sarah stared at the black computer screen for a few minutes, still trying to wrap our heads on what happened. Did Bunnie really die? I mean, there was a snapping sound that we heard. But who was that shadowy figure that appeared? I look towards Sarah, hoping that she has some sort of explanation for this, but she's as clueless as I am. Just... What kind of game is this? Was this sudden inclusion of something killing some characters the reason why Daniel tore his room up? As I try to get a grasp on what happened, we both hear a voice.

"You know, it's becoming quite boring with all these comic characters... How about we add some variety?"

There was that voice again, from when we started up the game. Was this hidden individual the reason behind this? He did know that me and Sarah were both playing this game, even if the game runs on some kind of 1-player mode. Then again, most games that have been coming out are having the game or some of its characters act sentient. I'm snapped out my thoughts by Sarah taping my shoulder and pointing at the laptop, which has the words "Barricade Town" on it.

Soon, a new level loads, showing a large field that looks similar to Green Hill Zone, and our playable character being some blue-grey skunk named Rough with some kind of metallic capsule with a nozzle on his back. I looked between the character and Sarah, expecting her to explain this character, but she just looked back at me and gave me a shrug. Guess we're playing this character without knowing what to expect.
