"You don't have to go out today." Deon said to Ruma as he watched her pace the floor.

He had barely gotten her back to sleep the night prior. She was also struggling to settle this morning.

"Ruma." he waved his hand in front of her, trying to avoid grabbing her at all cost.

She stopped her movement but she didn't look up at him. Deon didn't like how she was acting. He crossed his arms, waiting for Ratok to come out of the bathroom so he could help get her to settle.

Deon shook his head, "Ruma, I don't think you should be going out. Especially now that Ratok has to be on the other side of the compound."

She turned and looked at him, she mumbled something then growled.

Deon tilted his head at her as she did such.

Ratok popped up quickly, "What was that?"

"I was growled at." Deon said with crossed arms.

Ruma had her arms crossed over. She looked for the moment less stressed, but more upset.

"What did you say?" Ratok questioned.

"I don't think it's a good idea out for her to go out today. She isn't all there. Ruma has spent the whole morning pacing and not paying attention." Deon pointed out, which just caused Ruma to huff and puff more.

Ratok nodded, "I think Deon is correct. If you have to leave, go be with Vassenhilo today."

Ruma loosened and nodded. Ratok made his way over to her, and placed his hand out. She looked at the hand then moved it away. Reaching up she jumped a bit so she could throw her arms around his neck. Ratok caught her and she landed her lips against his. Holding onto it for a while. Before releasing him and dropping to the floor.

"It's nice to have that back. You sure you were ready?" Ratok asked.

Ruma nodded.

"Okay. I must go now." He said, giving her one more kiss on the forehead. Then heading out.

Deon was left standing there. "I still think you should stay inside. But I'll come with."

Ruma shook her head. "Vassenhilo." She shook no again. "Not safe"

Deon dropped, "Yeah. I guess your right. But promise you'll come back to Ratok or me, if something happens?"

Ruma chuckled. "I never took you as a worrier." She teased.

Deon just shook his head again. Than went and sat down. "I'll wait for you here."

Ruma headed out, moving quicker than what she normally did to avoid people. Making it up Vassenhilo's. Mansion.

He stepped out to meet the bouncing humanoid. "Ahh, so my prodigal pet has returned to me."

Ruma yipped, and hopped up on his shoulder, where she used to spend the days around the Compound.

"Oh alright, I just I can't be that angry at you." he said as he continued down the steps. "Now that your back, I can have an extra productive day."

Ruma nodded in agreement. Holding on tightly as he walked through the compound faster than she could. She laid around his shoulders like an old cat.

Vassenhilo made his way to his main lab as he always does. Well almost always. Once in he sat Ruma down and started rattling off things he wanted done. Ruma half listened, as she started typing into the large table that was just a screen pad. She pulled up the information for quad 86 and started going over the information. Her eyes narrowing as she quickly started finding errors, as well as information that didn't line up with what they had set up.

Before she could research futher she could hear Vassenhilo tap the metal medical table she looked up, with a deer like look.

"Did you hear me?" he asked.

She shook her head no.

"Its been long enough for use to tell if your expecting. Get over here, you know I hate waiting." Vassenhilo said, while pressing a few buttons a small machine rolled out from one of the walls, and wheeled itself over to park next to Vassenhilo.

Ruma felt a cold numbness grow in her hands, her breath picked up slightly. She clenched her fists so she could feel her fingers than stood up and walked over.

She hoped up on the table, and the machine moved it has a two arms that came out from it, in the shape of a U. It moved his scanners flashed out, to locate her, and buzzed and whirled as it moved about making small but quick adjustments to its location to her, until it was centered, which took less than ten seconds.

It rotated the arms, and lifted its self up, and started moving it down slowly, each arm rested on the left and right side of Ruma. It continued lowing until it was at level to her lower abdomen. She lifted her arms setting it on top of the machine and it buzzed even louder.

A quick click, and what sounded like a camera taking a picture it pulled back, and the arms rotated some more, before a series of lights flashed and it spit out a tag.

Vassenhilo grabbed it, and a clicking sound as his fingers tapped together.

Ruma knew what that meant. She didn't have to the paper, its happened a dozen or so times before. She felt sick.

As Vassenhilo went to speak, Ruma lunged over and vomited down her leg and onto the floor, shuttering violently, she spent the next minute like this, horrible shakes and puking.

Vassenhilo stayed back, watching like it was just an annoying task to happen; while waiting he had a bot come clean up the mess.

"Are we done?" he asked, when she showed physical signs of calming down.

She nodded.

"Well, I wasn't expecting that from you until another few weeks or more. I will make notes of that, perhaps that is the badger part." he started mumbling things off as he took notes.

Ruma cringed as he said Badger, her thoughts sizzled from existance. She knew what came next was all in her mind but it didn't mean it didn't feel any less real, and it felt like things were moving and clawing at her stomach from the inside.

She couldn't move, her body was locked, all she could do was see the floor.

"Come Ruma, back to work." Vassenhilo said. "Oh here, I know you always want this. I can't ever understand why, it's not like you won't see them in a few months anyways."

He ploped a small black picture into her hands. At this stage the picture was blown up, an extreme version of an old technology. She looked down to see four small blips of white and grey shades.

Her arms crossed over her stomach. As a new fear enveloped her like a crashing wave. A fear she has lived through before.
