Ruma sat at the table typing away at the pad, the sun had set hours ago. The idea of walking alone terrified her so much she almost paralyzed herself. She had no way to contact Ratok to come get her, as she didn't have asscess to the speaker system like Vassenhilo did.
So there she set, working extra diligently through the night. As even the idea of falling asleep caused her body to malfunction.
Occasionally, she would look up at the photo of the sonic ultrasound. A heavy came over her, as she reached out to touch it.
She could feel the burn of tears start to form and she shoved it back away from her. Turning her head now to focus.
Another couple hours passed and she was struggling to keep awake. Her eyes shut and her head bobbed back and forth. Causing her to force herself to stand. Ruma paced around for awhile. Keeping her mind focus on Quadrant 86.
As she paced she started to take notice of strange shadows, reflecting off of things, noises popping up. Every new thing that came up, caused her heart to start to race, beating faster and faster each time.
Ruma attempted to put it out of her mind. This was all in her head. She went to continue working when a notification popped up on the pad.
Movement detected outside.
She quickly hit the x button, telling herself it was just an animal.
Ping.
The notification went of again. She looked down, and this time pressed the view camera button. There was nothing, and no one, she continued to pressed through the buttons to switch views, searching until she got to the one facing the door. The door was wide open, she turned to look behind her at the second door.
There was a large figure stood on the otherside of the privacy glass. She couldn't see anything outside the shape. As it stood starting at her. Ruma stumbled out of her chair causing it to make a loud banging noise.
The glass door swung wide open.
"Ruma~" the voice chilled ruma, and she kept moving back away.
Joseph stood now just inside the doorway.
Her mind screamed. Why! WHY! as she continued shuffling back into a corner, that was slightly hidden from his view. She placed a hand over her mouth to silence her sound more.
Ruma wanted her Maeger, she wanted to be in her room, asleep between Ratok and Deon.
She fought herself to keep from crying. She needed her vision.
His footsteps echoed quietly around the dark lab. She could see his shadow being cast in further from the lights outside.
Ruma was stuck in that corner. He would eventually find her unless he decided to leave. She put her head into her arms and stayed there.
