"Ru, I am fine now," Deon, insisted as Ruma kept on pawing at him. "Come, here." he pulled her down next to him on the bed, they had both bathed and got into night clothes. Deon had perked up alot in the hour.

"Why won't you just tell me whats wrong, you were supposed too."

Deon sighed, not knowing if he should tell her about the interaction. Would she side with him, or with Vassenhilo. One she has known forever, the other was himself.

"Tell me," she started poking him.

Deon shuffled away from the pokes, "Ruma" he started back at her, being careful to stay away from her belly. He then resorted to a safer option of tickling her.

Ruma wiggled and giggled as she moved away from Deon this time. He chased her over the bed, and grabbed her, pulling her back, to tickle her again.

The two wrestled around like this, until Ruma was out of breath from laughing and trying to fight Deon of. She settled into a snuggle next to him, as he pressed gentle kisses along her neck and jaw.

"Tell me about the brudes." Deon asked, as he propt himself up on one elbow. Ruma turned and looked at him.

"Why?" she had to lift herself to be able to sign properly.

Deon shrugged, "Curious mostly,"

Ruma wormed herself in closer to him. "What do you want to know?"

"You have told me the difference, in the theory, but like what did they do. You call me your brude, but I am given a title without the job description isn't quite helpful.

"I'd have to tell you more about Briker."

"Than tell me more about Briker." he grabbed her hand, and placed a kiss on her knuckles.

"Fine-"

Light filtered into the tree hut, Ruma sat there working a dough over a heated stone bowl. Briker came up behind her, placing his hands on her sides.

She was in the late stage of a pregnancy. So his hands laid flat against her belly. Her head came back and laid against his chest. "Let me take over, you go rest. Orkan will certain be back soon."

Ruma growled, but moved away to let him take over, she went and laid down in the whelping nest Briker had made for her, for when the pups come. She watched him finish with the meal, and came to make sure she ate first.

Deon listened to different stories she had, the goods, and some crazy.

"Ru, I know you said your males were killed. What happened?"

Ruma sighed, laying her head on his chest. Then pointed to the pad next to the bed. He reached over and grabbed it. He watched as she quickly typed out everything. As she stil rested against him, she laid the pad down, and pressed a button that then read the words outloud.

"It was when they raided Geildeto's labs. They killed everyone, my males, and my children, Geildeto saved me out of all of them. I don't know why."

Deon wrapped his arms around her tighter. "Who was it that killed them?"

"The Government of Genius 46. That was the planet Vassenhilo was from."

Deon snorted, "I am from Genius 47, close, why would they extinguish them, and not try to give them a life."

"We lived, more like animals or early humans. They thought that we were too messed up to be brought into the eyes of the public. My people died and only I can tell anyone what truely happened that day, as no one else was told. It was kept hushed."

"I am sorry I brought up the past."

"No," this time she spoke with her own voice. Then went back to typing on the pad. "The painful parts hurt, but I enjoy remembering the good. I just miss alot of things."

"I can understand that."

Ruma yawned, 'Are you going to tell me, why you were upset."

"Can you answer me another question first?"

Ruma nodded, slowly on his chest.

"Would you take the side of Briker or Vassenhilo if something came up?"

Ruma signed this, "I'd always choose my brude, I'd choose you over Vassenhilo"

"That's not what I asked,"

"I know it is what you meant. Now what happened?"

Deon turned Ruma over, and pulled her into him so her could be the bigger spoon as they talked. "He threatened me, he thinks that what happened in the Quadrant is some how connected to me."

"You were locked up in my tower when that happened, you couldn't have." he saw her sign.

"I know." he sat there silently for a moment, "Can I tell you the truth?"

"Of course,"

"I am terrified, I can't help but think that doom is just over head."

"You can be scared, but I will fight the universe for you." Ruma nodded off to sleep right after that. WHile Deon stayed away for several more hours, as the sun hadn't quite set when Ruma went to sleep.

He laid his head on Ruma's while he thought. Thought how someone the worse event in his life, gave him something good to hold.
