Broken Two – 8 ( Small World?)
Author’s Note: Thanks for reading and voting on this book quite quickly. Makes me happy to see new fans and people adding this book to your libraries. Anyway, in this chapter I thought I should touch on Ethan as he is the only new character that will be featured constantly in this book. This is Ethan. Enjoy. Thanks x

Uh the power cut as soon as I was going to start talking to my dons using my PlayStation. We all planned to have a serious Call of Duty session in which of course yours truly would win.

Uh, my uncle used to drink a can of Kestrel when life got stressful – Tinie Tempah (Wonderman) )
My phone was ringing. When I looked at the front of my Blackberry, I saw Sasha’s name flash up. She was meant to be the girl I’m interested but really and truly I’m only with her so I don’t look like less of a boy. All of my male friends have girls in some way, shape or form whereas to be honest, I’m not interested.
“Hello?” I said pressing the accept button.
“I haven’t heard from you in a while. Where have you been?”
“Just around init.”
“Oh oh, well you should come out more.”
“Yeah yeah I will.”
“Good, so what you doing?”
“My power was just cut so I’m going to go see what the problem is.”
“Oh, do you want me to call you back then?”
“Yeah please.”
“Alright, later babe.”
“Kool.”
My mum was asleep so I didn’t want to disturb her by telling her anything. I put on my white airforces to get ready to go next door to the neighbours to ask if they had a power cut as well. This would let me know if it was just our home or whether it was a neighbourhood thing. I regularly saw our neighbours enter their home but we never actually spoke. I always saw a young couple with their baby I assumed so I thought “Don’t go there, Ethan.” The girl was beautiful though. I usually saw her handing up their washing and running small errands around the area. Her smooth caramel skin was noticeably clear and smooth with her pretty green eyes.
As I knocked on the door, I awaited either of this young couple to come to the door cupped with their daughter on their hips.
“Hello?” A female voice peered round the door.
“Erm hi, I’m your neighbour – I don’t think we have been introduced but I wanted to know is your electricity working because we’ve had a power cut.” Her deep green eyes stared into me as she listened to me speak.
“Hi, I’m Khayla...” As she was about to continue on with her sentence, her daughter began to wail from her inside. I didn’t mind children. I had one of my own – Kion. He was born from my days of rebellion, when I was about 16 I went around sleeping with as many girls as I could but then Kion was born and I realised I had to help raise him. That was until her mother died and I had to take full responsibility for him. Losing the one you love isn’t easy to deal with but Kion mad e it easier for me.
“Sorry , that’s my daughter Leah.” She finally continued after looking around the door to check her daughter.”
“Oh, I’m Ethan by the way but yeah its fine ha.”
“Anyway, my electricity is working perfectly fine – maybe call your supplier?”
“Yeah, thanks – see you later.”
“Yeah, bye.”
She closed the door back on me and like that, I knew two things: One - she was stunning up close and Two: I couldn’t have her.
“ETHAN! WHY ARE THE LIGHTS OFF?” She being my loud mother had clearly woken up.
“I’m sorting it now mum.” I said normally so that she wouldn’t even hear me proberly but I just wanted peace and quiet.
With a flick of two switches, the lights were back on and I was back in front of the television searching for a channel to watch.

Caller ID: Sasha
“Hello?”
“What are you doing this evening?”
“Taking my son to the cinema. Why?”
“Just wanted to know if you wanted to come to my small drink-up that I’m having. I’m inviting some people from my old school, college and road”
“What time does it start?”
“At around 9pm and finishes at about 3am.”
“Yeah that should be bless. Should I bring a bottle?” I walked upstairs into my room as if my mum knew would be listening closely to this conversation. She knew that I was sort of dealing with Sasha but not seriously. She was always telling me to end it with her because I have Kion to think about but I am thinking of him. Sasha loves Kion and has been there for me and him since his mother died. YET I didn’t want to be with her – I saw better out there for me.
“Yeah just a little something though because I have loads of drink already here.”
“Alright then – later.”
“Kool.”
I wasn’t really bothered to go this drink-up however I haven’t been out in so long that I thought I may as well.
“Mum!”
“Yes?”
“Can I go out tonight?”
“Where you going? Sashas?” I knew she was listening. A conclusion couldn’t be made that out of the blue.
“Sasha is having a little gathering and...” She interrupted me.
“Just don’t stumble in drunk or come tell me in a few weeks that you got the girl pregnant. I’ll look after Kion shall I?”
“Yes please. Thanks.” Since Kion was born, I made sure that all sexual intercourse was done with a condom. As much as I love my son, I don’t want another child not right now.
“You’re welcome.” I didn’t go out much so I wasn’t surprised that she allowed me out.

“Sasha, where am I going to get a babysitter at this short notice?”
Sasha was a friend of mine from back in secondary school. We used to sit together in English and when we left, we never really talked again however she added me on Facebook and from there, we occasionally spoke on the phone.
“I’m sure you can find one.”
“I’ll try but I’m not promising anything. I don’t even feel like going out.”
“Don’t worry about Trey, just come and let your hair down for one night.”
“Ok ok, I’ll try.”
“Good. See you later.”
With that, she hung up and I was off to find a babysitter. I instantly dialled the number of the only person I knew would help me regardless in this situation...
