Broken Two - 3 (Do You Know Her?)

Author's Note: I wanted to release this chapter quickly as I go back to school tomorrow in fact -.- and I didn't want this chapter hanging over my head as it is important to Trey's whole story. Anyway enough about me lol: Enjoy and keeping commenting, voting etc :)

*Ash's Point Of View*

Pushing my delivery cart out of Khayla's block was all I wanted to do. She made me sick. She was right. I was right but we were completely different in our points. Everyday she didn't tell Trey the truth, she was making it worse. How could Leah grow up with a liar of a mum and a broken dad?

"ASH!"

The shout of my name echoed through the block as I struggled to unlock my chain.

"ASH, I know you're there!"

"What Khayla?"

"Come back up please."

"I have a job to do you know."

"I know but please."

"Fine, 3 minutes."

I left the chain to my delivery cart locked and walked back upstairs to see Khayla and Leah waiting again at the stairs for me. I stood at the door not wishing to re-enter the door.

"What do you want now, Khayla?"

"Come in. I don't want the neighbors to hear."

"Fine."

I stepped over Leah who was playing with the 'Welcome' mat. Standing in the hallway with the door slightly ajar I noticed how much Leah resembled Trey. I noticed how her dark brown eyes, clear skin and button nose showed signs of him. Leah was a sign of the past for me and Khayla constantly reminding us of what we signed up for and what shall never come out.

"Ash, when we came to this little agreement I thought I could handle it but I can't."

"I know you can't and I can't either but how would Trey feel if we told him Leah is your first child. Dami lied to you in fact Dami's child was mine! We can't do that. It shouldn't have got that far."

"How do you think I felt finding out? I didn't want too. Trey should know but you left it too long. If you told him this wouldn't be such an issue now."

"If I told him? Khayla, you see the 'guilt' Trey has everyday and you make him suffer with it. You're the one that could tell him."

*Khayla's Point Of View*

"Ash, don't go there."

"Why not? We are BOTH in the wrong so we BOTH can't do anything about it."

"Ash, I'm not in the wrong, I'm protecting you!"

"Protecting me? Protecting yourself more like.....

Every now and then, we were both glancing at Leah to check she was still playing with the welcome mat which she was happily.

"......you know that if you told Trey, you would have to explain why you chose me over him and you know you can't say that!"

"Ash, that's not fair you know, I've wanted to tell Trey the truth from day one"

"Then why didn't you?!"

I didn't tell Trey because a part of me wanted to be with Ash. Ash and I wanted to stay away from each other as we felt it was best but Trey kept pushing us together.

"Because I would be putting my family at risk."

"Well aren't you doing that everyday you don't tell him? What's stopping Dami coming back into his life and telling him the truth?"

"I've made my choice and I have to stick by it."

"I've got work to do.....

He stepped over Leah who was still enchanted by the welcome mat, gave her a kiss and left.

I picked up Leah, closed the door and back to being a mum I went. Thoughts and reality went to the back of my mind once again.

*Trey's Point Of View*

Getting of the bus I strolled back into my old area where the memories came flashing back to me. That was the bus stop me and Khayla first meet at. That was the lamp post that I also broke her heart at. There was the shop I stole a chocolate bar from when I was twelve. All the silly little things I did mattered now because in contrast to how I am now, I want them back.

"Yo Trey! How's the offspring ha?" Samuel shouted from the other side of the road, he was in the process of crossing when he must have noticed me.

Samuel had finished university and was back living with his mother. He was the acting head of the home seeing as his dad was back in Nigeria looking after their grandmother. Politics was still the main thing in his life but he at the moment, he worked as a social worker. His siblings were basically the same apart from growing up of course.

"LEAH ha is fine."

"Sam, can I buy it or not?" Hiding behind Samuel was Alexandra or Alex for short. She was always shy yet outgoing in a sense once you had warmed to her.

"Yeah, go crazy!" He took five pounds out of his wallet and placed in Alex's hand.

"Thanks." She said and shuffled off.

"Anyway yeah, you and Khayla good?"

"Yeah we're in a good place now. More settled than before."

"Yeah, that's good; you know Dami and Ash go out?"

"They don't. He would have told me Sam."

"That's why he didn't tell you T, it's that past history thing?"

"So what about 'Past History', he would have told me about it all?"

"You sure you know who Ash is."
