Broken 2 (4) - I want the truth.
"You don't know Ash like I do Trey."
"Well even if I don't, why would he hide it from me?"
"You're his best friend and look at what Dami did to you."
I had already called my mum and Leesa to tell them I wasn't coming. I was using an "illness" as a cover for myself. Quite frankly I was in no mood to be dealing with happiness when a mixture of confusion and anger took over me. Sam, Alex and I had walked to his home where I and Sam were on the sofa acting discussing it.
"But I being his best friend should mean he can tell me anything."
"Not really. People keep secrets...."
I instantly interrupted because this was me and Ash not anyone else.
"BUT NOT ASH! He's my best friend and always has been. Regardless of what happens, he knows that."
"Trey! He's been lying to you."
"No he hasn't. Sam, how would you know? You're always at university."
"Yeah and it doesn't take that long to catch up with the local gossip. Trey people can talk and avoid."
"Don't you think I would have heard it?"
"Hasn't Khayla mentioned anything?"
"No she hasn't. Sam, don't start rumors."
"How am I?"
"You're just coming to me on the street telling me what is going in my friendship!"
"I'm not trying to do that, I just thought you knew about all the things in the past because they do hang over you and will."
"What are you talking about Sam?"
*Ash's Point Of View*
"Yeah......I know I was late but I was at work..........can't you go to your cousins another time......so what if you're on the bus......" I was sitting next to a man on the bus who was having the longest conversation. It was all about "Lisa, why can't you do this?" Or "Lisa, that?" I didn't understand him just let the girl go ha.
His conversation didn't allow me to be with my own thoughts so I just listened to his. Noisy I know but diving into others lives just for a second intrigued me as it opened a window to what others go through.
"Leeeeesa babe please!"
I took out my own phone and just flicked through my own text messages that remained unopened.
1 message from Trey.
From Trey.
Yoo, bell me bck whn u gt this....need to tlk.
*End of Message*
Pressing the call button, I was wondering what was going on because not to long ago we was laughing and joking about a parcel I was delivering now something bothers him. I didn't get what he was on about.
"You asked me to call."
"Yeah, come to Sam's."
His tone was sharp and cold nothing like the Trey I knew. This just reaffirmed to me what I already guessed. Something major was going on. Maybe I was overreacting, this is all one big joke but surely I know Trey and he RARELY jokes.
"Now?"
"Yeah now."
"I'm still in my work uniform though Trey."
As soon as I said Trey's name, the boy sitting next to me was glaring as though he was returning my favor of listening in to my conversation.
"I don't mind just come now."
"Ite, I'll see you when I get there then."
"Yeah, bye."
I hung up. As I got up to get off the bus, I thought about saying "Bye" to the boy as a sarcastic way just as in a sense we were bonded through issues with people we obviously cared about. The bus that I had got off was still at the stop: I felt eyes watching me. My eyes flicked up and I saw the eyes that I knew. Looking up, I saw Dami. I stared. She stared.
(8) Lil Wayne - On Fire (8): My Ring tone.
Glaring at her at her still, I picked up my phone holding her glance. The guilt in her eyes pushing her over the edge with my anger flaring from beneath me.
"Yeah?" I said answering the call.
"Has Trey called you at all today?"
It was Khayla. She sounded panicked and rushed which snapped me out of my angered state into my calm one ready to assist her in what she needed.
The bus which Dami was on had left and my attention was fully on Khayla.
"Yeah, he said to come to Sam's."
"Me as well oh and Dami is going to be there as well apparently."
"I saw Dami just on the bus now actually so I guess this is going to be one big reunion for us all then."
"I'm guessing but I don't want to see Dami though like why should I?"
"We have to see her at some point."
"I know by why all together?"
"I guess only Trey will know. Until then we go and see what's up."
*Trey's Point Of View*
"Are they coming?" Sam said whilst lighting a cigarette casually.
"Yeah."
"Alright.....then." He said whilst taking in breathes of his cigarette.
I watched him as he puffed in and exhaled out taking with him the sense of mellow.
"Here." He said handing me the cigarette.
I didn't usually smoke but this time I needed it. My body was calling for relief of some sort. I need to release this rage, this sadness.
"Dami is here, Trey. I can see her through the window."
"Here we go then."
"Yeah here we go."
