Author’s Note: Wattpad, I’ve been neglecting you due to my final exams but no fear; I’m back with a new addition to the Broken Two story. This chapter was long in coming, the chapter which triggers the end of this book. I didn’t want to ever make this book long because I knew how it was going to end from the first book. You want a hint of that? Sorry, no can do. :D

Broken Two – 11 (The Meeting)

Khayla’s Point of View:

“What drink would you like?”

“Can I just have water?”

“Ha, come on drink something with me!”

“Alright then seeing as I haven’t drunk a thing tonight/this morning.”

We had been in my flat for about ten minutes instead of going to Ethan’s. Ethan had remembered that his son would be there and didn’t want to wake him so we agreed to come to mine which of course was empty. It was about three in the morning and we were both wide awake.

“Did you have fun tonight?” He asked me talking to me from the living room as his voice boomed into the kitchen with the silence wrapped around it.

I poured us both a glass of wine that was in my fridge left from Leah’s christening. As I poured the glass at the corner of my eye was one of Leah’s toys that she usually played with. Even though Ethan was just a friend to me, it felt wrong.

“Yeah I did thanks.” I said back just in time for my thoughts to connect with my speech.

I heard Ethan get up off of the sofa and his footsteps guide him into the kitchen.

“I did too; I got to know you more.”

“Yeah, finally someone else my age that has a child.”

“Ha yeah, not that we are a club that should be joined.”

“Yeah, if Leah got pregnant when she was the age that I did, I would kill her!”

“I wouldn’t even get the chance to kill Kion; he would know not to come home with that information.”

“Haha, do you want more kids?” I asked him adding seriousness to our conversation.

“I do at some point but definitely not now.”

“Wouldn’t you have wanted children with Kion’s mother?” I asked sitting on my kitchen’s side. He was leaning against the cabinets just thinking.

When he was thinking, he did this thing with his lips as though he was biting it, and then his eyes would flicker upwards circling them in mid thought. I didn’t watch this process though as I was to busy gazing into my glass of wine as though it would provide me the answers to my life’s questions.

“It would have been nice, yeah to have a family instead of having Kion have half siblings but I can’t help what happened and in a sense, if I know there are good girls out there I don’t mind not having that full sibling thing for Kion.”

“Yeah, plus nowadays it is more accepted anyway.”

“Yeah, what about you?”

“What about me?”

I didn’t realise what he was talking about until he looked at me sideways. He was saying ‘Would I want more children with Trey?’ – I haven’t even thought about the possibility of us not being back together just because it hadn’t set in that he has been away. As I hadn’t seen him since he was away, I didn’t have the chance of seeing him and seeing how my feelings would develop for him that way. I was still numb and all I knew was that right now, I couldn’t answer that question.

…..

Ethan has left at 5am in the morning and I went to sleep till about midday when I woke up to the sound of my phone ringing frantically in the bag.

“Hello?” I said half asleep still.

“Khayla, sorry to wake up but when are you coming to pick up Leah? She is calling for you.” I could hear Leah saying “Mum” in the background. Her development was coming along in leaps and bounds. She could say more words than the average child for her age and I was sure that she was a mummy’s girl which I happily embraced.

“I’ll come at about 1 if that’s alright.”

“Yeah, it is. See you then.”

I noticed when coming off the phone to Trey’s mother that I had a text message.

*

Khayla, can I come see Leah today at the house at around 6pm?

Trey

*

As much as I didn’t want to see him, I couldn’t keep Leah from him as he was her father after all. Due to the fact that I and Trey are bonded for life now, whatever there may be between us, we have to put that aside for Leah’s sake.

*

Yeah, that would be fine.

Khayla

As soon as I finished sending the text ensuring that it has sent, I got up to retrieve my daughter and prepare myself for his arrive.

Trey’s Point of View:

Back in the area that destroyed me just to see Leah, I was making my way to my old home well Khayla’s home to see Leah but also to see her. I wanted to speak to her to find out where we go from here because I ran before but now I’m back I want to walk with her to better the situation.

6pm came as quickly as I had sent that text asking her to meet Leah. Knocking on the door, she opened it almost instantaneously.

“You alright?”

“Yeah, I’m good you? and Leah?”

“We’re fine.”

I heard the echo of In The Night Garden ring through the house, it was sure to get Leah to sleep in no time soon. I never quite understood how one child could be obsessed with a children’s programme that made no sense but I guess when I was her age, I understood as well.

Walking in, I felt like a stranger. I was once here and now I’m entering back, I felt as though I didn’t know the place at all.

“LEAH!” I screeched and she sat up giggling in my direction as I came towards her wishing to embrace her.

…..

Leah firmly in her cot, Khayla and I were now sitting on opposite sofas now just enjoying the silence not wanting to fill it with anything until she said…

“Are we going to talk about it?”

“Do you want to?”

“Yeah because I don’t want to go on thinking about it.”

“I know you’re sorry and I know you want to work it out but I need to heal from your lies Khayla.”

“So what about Leah? What about giving her a chance to have both her mother and her father in her life?”

“She will. But for now, she will be with them separately.”

She sighed.

“Khayla, trust me when I say, I love you but right now I don’t want to be with you.”

She sat up from her previous position and looked me straight in my eyes. She walked over to the sofa I was sitting on and sat down beside me.

“I love you too and always will.”

I found myself stuck hugging her before soon we were locked in a sweet embrace of kisses.
