They always say good things must come to an end-- but I believe writing is eternal.
Literature cannot be imprisoned by the effects of time. It survives, flourishes, and even ages like fine wine. It cannot be separated from the world in which it was created, yes, but it can live beyond that.
Books can stay for a while, centuries after its maker has moved beyond the physical world.
I like to imagine my work slowly trailing behind me like an old bloodhound. Tired, patient, always waiting to take my place.
Not willing to let go.

Thank you for reading Silverfish. This collection of poetry, prose, and short stories has been in the works for almost seven years now. I would often find myself retreating back to Silverfish when an idea popped in my head, when I would hear a certain phrase in passing that just had to be written down, or when I needed to heal. This book has been many things for me, and I'm glad I got to share it with you.
