Y/N P.O.V.:

After what seemed like a long trip back to HQ, we finally got back, I alerted Sage before our return so she could heal Neon right as we got back. She was going to be fine.

I don't know what happened, I defused the bomb, then I saw Neon helplessly lying on the wall cornered, and something inside me snapped. (I didn't care anymore. sorry I had to)

I felt rage, endless and crippling rage. I was tired of seeing people get hurt because of them, good people getting hurt. So I did the only thing that went through my head, I killed him without remorse.

I saved her life, and that was all that mattered.

When Neon was healed, I left. I knew that she was fine and now my job was done, but why did I care in the first place? It didn't matter, and I ignored it.

After the mission, Brimstone explained to me that the procedure after missions was to file a mission report, and have it to him by two days, so I guess I have some work to do, which I didn't mind.

It was late at night, and I wasn't going to sleep much anyways, so might as well get something done.

I decided to work in the kitchen/dining area, because at this time of night, no one was up or out, so I didn't really have to worry about that, I just wanted a change of scenery.

I worked on the report, basically all I had to do was explain how the mission went and what events happened durring it.

Targets engaged, both neutralized. Bomb defused, bots destoryed. Neon saved, I didn't get hurt. Shit like that.

After working for a few hours, I rubbed my eyes, and put my hands in my head.

I was tired, but I didn't want to sleep, the nightmares made me afraid to close my eyes.

I open my eyes at the sound of someone walking down the hallway into the kitchen area, and turned on the lights. It was Neon.

She was wearing some nightware I guess, which consisted of a blue crop top with short grey shorts, which complimented her muscular legs, but I didn't focus on that. When she noticed I was there and jumped when she saw me, which in response made me jump in defense.

"Patawad, I didn't see you here", she said calming down. (Sorry in tagalog)

"Its fine, I didn't mean to scare you", I answered.

I just let her go about her buisness, and continued working. Soon after though she sat close to me on the couch I was sitting on.

"Why are you up so late?", she asked.

"I couldn't sleep", I answered, but she didn't seem to buy it.

"The bags under your eyes tell me different", she said. Well she was very observant, which was also unfortunate for me.

"So whats the real reason?", she asked.

I didn't answer her after that point, I didn't want to just tell her, I mean how could I? 'Yeah, because I was tortured and hurt and manipulated and my mind was twisted for nine years, I lost my ability to sleep peacefully at night'. That was stupid, and I didn't want to tell her.

She just sat back, and sat there, she wasn't looking at me or saying anything, but I could tell just by the way she was looking around that she had something on her mind.

"Did you have something you wanted to tell me?", I asked, trying to get her to spit it out.

She just looked down for a minute, before replying, "I just wanted to say thank you, for saving my ass back on the mission. I would've been dead otherwise".

I didn't really know why it was hard for her to just say that, but I responded back.

"You did the same for me", I said.

"Only in my case I was much more screwed than you, so I guess I still owe you", I told her.

She seemed to smile at my comment, "No payments required", she said.

After about 15 more minutes of silence and work, I decided that I was done for the night, I looked at the time on my laptop and it was almost 1 A.M.

I got up and collected my stuff, "Come on", I told her, I didn't want her to stay by herself, so we could walk back to our rooms.

She followed me, but I could tell that she still had something she wanted to say, but this time I didn't need to force it out of her.

"Listen Y/N, I think we got off on the wrong foot, and I would like to change that, since we going to be working together it seems like", she said.

"My Name is Tala, or Neon whichever you prefer, and I hope we can be good friends", she said with a real smile.

I was surprised, I'd never had someone do this to me, seriously this had never happened before. I was hesitant, I knew getting close with people would lead to pain, but I also didn't want to come off as a jerk.

I raised my hand, "Y/N" I said as I went to shake her hand, but something happened.

Sparks flew between our hands

Both of use retracted our hands, her electricity shocked us both, creating the sparks.

"I'm sorry, thats never happened before", she said looking at her hand.

"Its okay, try again", I told her.

She seemed hesitant, but stuck her hand back to mine. Electricity bridged from her hand to mine, but not painfully, then our hands met.

I shook her hand, she looked up at me and smiled.

After our hands seperated, she spoke up, "Well I better get to bed, who knows what will happen tomorrow", she said. She went into her room, and closed the door.

I was confused on what just happened, my powers reacted with hers, and sparks were created, which hasn't happened before. Maybe it was her electricity that caused my powers to breifly activate, but who knows.

I walked back into my room, and lied on my bed, thinking about it.

'Tala, thats a nice name' I thought before falling into slumber.
